I could not convince some one who was trying to invite me to "a really cool church," that he was ruinining my "me time," at Boarders Books. Here is the scenario: me, reading a book and drinking an expensive cup of coffee, and he bugging me. (Did I mention that I was minding my own damn business?)

I'm was born a Catholic/Baptist. Growing up in a Protestant town my family was singled out and taunted and many people didn't like when we went to the Baptist chruch becuase we also attented mass. The catholic chruch always welcomed me with open arms. But my point is why is there so much hate between Protesants and Catholics? Why can't we love each and worship side by side?

Last night about 4 am I had a nightmare where I was in a room and I read the words "god has fallen" on a table, and some bird being strangled next to it! Woke my **** up like you would not believe, and I dont even believe in god! I could understand if it was the usual, being chased or falling nightmare. I'd put it down to eating strange foods before bed!
But religious references in my nightmares are new to me!
What in the world do you think that means?

I heard on TV or somewhere that you can't smoke so much pot that you will die because you will ultimately pass out before you get to that point thus enabling you to do so. Is that true? Who knows the answer?

What are the ramifications of adhering to traditional standards of marriage-ie-one man -one woman under God-and how do you legislate and facilitate what God has clearly stated-aren't spiritual rites under the authority of the clerical governing body? Is it the cash and goods and family involved that crosses the judicial and governmental lines? Since a spiritual relationship is just that-spiritual-how can you legislate it's tenets? (Unless it is physically harming the participants or the general public or breaking laws created for the health and well being of the populace))

we are suposed to lovingly let someone know when they are wrong, and when they don't listen and continue to sin, we are supposed to get 2 or more people and talk to them again, and if they still don't turn from their sin, are we supposed to cast them out until they stop sinning?

Does it really say in the Bible that it's the Father's choice-only- where and how the children are educated?

After reading a few other questions on here, some of them serious and some of them silly, you can almost guarantee that someone will post an answer telling them jesus etc is the answer to everything.

I am not religious and dont beileve in stuff like that and I have got through life pretty well. I don't think it is because of an almighty looking down on me or a guardian angel taking care of me or anything like that. I think my life has turned out the way it has because of decisions I have made and situations I have put myself in. When things have gone wrong I haven't prayed for help or forgiveness and I have always come through the other side pretty much ok.

If religious people pray for forgiveness or for help or for whatever they pray, why do their lives turn out no better or worse than anyone who doesnt believe in that stuff?????

I am not asking if you think this would ever happen, but what if, despite your best efforts, your child grew up and became unabashedly gay? As in they don't believe being gay is a choice, they believe that they are gay and always were, and don't believe that they can be "cured," or even need to be.

What would you do? Please explain as much as posible. Thanks.
