And proclamied your lifestyle immoral.

Many homosexual people adopt children.

I just wondered how compassionate they would feel after raising a child and the child rejecting their lifestyle, and choosing an alternate path that does not include them.

Not being in a situation to know this answer first hand, I would assume they would be very frieghtened about losing their childs respect. But lets see how they respond. If in fact they will respond.

Evangelical Christians, what would you do if your child told you that he was Gay?

I know exactly what you would do. You would still love him and try to understand him.

Then you would beat a trail to your church leader and ask, "are you sure that homosexuality is a sin against God'?

Well, I would have good news for you. The original Bible did not condemn homosexuality. It is mentioned about 4 times as being no big deal, no condemnation of it and certainly no punishment for it.

The famous verse about "man should not lay with another man as he would with a woman" is a blatant (not accidental) mis-translation of the original Bible. (in 1611)

Proof: The original text said to the effect "A married man should not spend sexual time with another man, because it would cause disharmony with his wife"

God was not condemning homosexuality, he was condemning disharmony.

In Sodom and Gamorrah, God was not condemning Homosexuality (it had been prevalent there for hundreds of years) God was condemning gross disharmony.

Church Empires have corrupted God's message.

And, just what is God's message?

Harmony is harmony.

Disharmony is the only sin against God.

........

PS: I am not a homosexual. I am repulsed by it. However, maybe a homosexual is repulsed by heterosexuality.

I am left-handed, are you going to discriminate against me for not being born like most other people. Of course not, not unless the Church leaders tell you that left-handidness is a sin.

Honestly...I believe I would love him/her and ask him/her to pray for their wicked parents but never, never hate them...Love them instead. As the child grew in his/her faith and intelligence, he would learn to walk as Jesus did and Jesus loved the folks who were less than goodie goodie..He saved most of his anger for the high priests and money changers...just my little bitty opinion.......kevin

What makes you so sure all gays don't have faith in God. I know many that do, we even have a Church here in our city that is mostly gays. The gay would accept his child the same way a straight parent accept his child who is gay. Love covers a multitude of sins.

This is a great question. I have a sister who is Evangelical Christian and we no longer communicate with each other because she becomes too tyrannical...I would be saddened to have lost my child to such an inhuman and spiritually dead political movement.

UM question, if homosexuals dont hook up with the opposite gender, how are they supposed to have children in the first place?

I'd shrug, say that's nice, and respect their right to believe as their conscience requires of them.

Why should I otherwise care what they think about me?

If I were a homosexual I'd tell the kid to shut his pie hole and respect his elders!
