Growing up, the people in my life were very spiritual and metaphysical. Concerned not so much with material things but with their connection to God, in all his many names. The older I get, the more I find myself attracted to successful people who are well-adjusted in today's society. People who are OK with the state of things, who go to Charlie Brown's with their families after an outing at the mall and are OK with that. Am I becoming a "bad" person–a shallow, lesser person? I'm so confused :/

Do you think that it's possible there is a God and Devil, and that Satan wrote the bible to cause confusion around the world?

...Excellent! Would you like to come round on Saturday?I'm sacrificing my first-born to Moloch."
"What's that? You believe in freedom of religion for "reasonable" religions?"

What constitutes an unreasonable religion? Who gets to decide and on what grounds?
(Child sacrifice is deliberately extreme to establish the idea but there are real, but less clear-cut, issues)

I found an old Reader's Digest from the 1930's. It had an article about how the USA was trying to slow the population explosion by giving birth control devices, and sex education poor nations. The article said that government yielded to pressure from the Catholic Church. Now, millions die of starvation every month. Our planet has air and water pollution. We are on the brink of war. And our resources like oil are dwindling.

"And the swine....he is unclean to you...of their flesh ye shall not eat." Leviticus 11:7-8, Deut. 14:8

"This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice: he is a glutton and a drunkard. And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones that he die; so shall thou put evil away from among you." Deut. 21:18-21

If Jesus annulls the Laws of God by crucifixion, is the Bible still Holy, or does the Old and New Testament contradict each other making Jesus a stubborn and rebellious son?

Why does the Sabbath shift from Seventh Day to Sunday and to worship of the Sun?

Has the crucifixion taken man away from worship of the Only True God (John 17:3) to pagan worship of three-gods-in-one and a cross?

Is not this cause for concern?

Pain of Afghan suicide women
By Payenda Sargand
BBC News, Kabul
Gulsoom was unconscious for a week
Gulsoom is 17-years-old and married. Last year she tried to commit suicide - she failed.
She set fire to herself but, against the odds, survived with appalling injuries.
Her plight reflects that of a growing number of young Afghan women, campaigners say.
Driven to desperation by forced marriages and abusive husbands, more and more are seeking release through self-immolation.
Gulsoom was engaged at the age of 12. Three years later her family married her to a man aged 40 who she says was addicted to drugs.
She was then taken to Iran. Her husband beat her regularly, Gulsoom says, particularly when he had no money for heroin.
"Once after I was badly beaten by my husband, I was in bed when I heard a voice murmuring and telling me to go and set fire to myself," she says.
"I went and poured petrol on my whole body. The flames on my body lasted

I've read a lot of VERY innacurate claims made against the Catholic Church since I've started using Y!A. Claims that we pray to Mary, worship the Pope, are idolators, are un-biblical, etc... What I'd like to know is this: Of the people who have criticized Catholicism, are you basing the statements you make on personal experience with the church, or on what you hear from other members of YOUR faith?

Islam is true will you be a winner or a loser? Muslims believe in all of the 3 books where Jews in one book and Christians believe in 2 books.
"Say: we believe in God and in what has been revealed to us, and what was revealed to Abraham, Isma'il: Isaac, Jacob and The Tribes, and in (the Books) given to Moses, Jesus and the Prophets, from their Lord: We make no distinction between one and another, among them, and to God do we bow our will (in Islam)." (Qur'an, Al-Imran 3:84)

With the assumptions that you believe in Christ.....Have you actually tried to pray to God for answers to some of theese profound questions we want to know about.

How long did the dinosaurs live?
What did the look like?
Why are we(Mankind) Here?
Why dont the other planets have life?
What's the purpose of the moon?
Is there other life in the universe?
How long did it take the universe to form?
When will the universe end?
Are there aliens in our solar system?
Is it possible to go faster than light?
Why are there black holes?
ect.ect.ect..

Cause God does give real answers. The answer may not come when you want, but if you're persistent in prayer, you will get the answer.

Luke 8:10-And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

Think about it! God wanted the Jewish people to believe Jesus was His Son and wanted them to accept Jesus. They said no! They killed God's son? So, enter Hitler and the Nazis to teach the Jewish people a lesson? Did they learn? No!!! In this present age, some Jews do believe in Jesus. The others don't! Was that a good way to teach them a lesson. Its been said Hitler & whsat he did, was an inspiration from heaven? No offense to anyone.

I mean, honestly. We Christians try to be all loving, yet you still hate. (By you, I am actually talking to the people that hate, not you as a whole). Is it because you think we are ignorant, because we are believed to have been a part of the Crusades, because Christianity made Hilter kill people because of their beliefs, or is it something different? I would only like honest answers, please, answering the question to the best of your ability. If you cannot answer the question well, don't answer at all, or if you are going to try and be funny, don't answer either, I am not in the mood. Any answers I find like this will be reported.

Some of these prophecies were taken from great religions.

I will give 10. but there are many, many more...

1) Adultery and fornication will be performed in the open

2) People will walk in the marketplace with their thighs exposed

3) Great distances will be traversed in short spans of time

4) Earthquakes will increase

5) The appearance of false messengers

6) Women will be naked in spite of being dressed, these women will be led astray & will lead others astray

7) Men will begin to look like women and women will begin to look like men

8) Gains will be shared out only among the rich, with no benefit to the poor

9) When a man obeys his wife and disobeys his mother; and treats his friend kindly while shunning his father

10) People will hop between the clouds and the earth

REMEMBER: They have predicted this about thousand years ago, when all of this points seems quite impossible.
