Thanks for your answer. I realize that you're Mormon so I'll try to be specific.
#1: Grace vs. Works
There is one important thing that is essential for you to know about Mormonism: the difference between the Mormon's Jesus and the Jesus of Christianity--especially when it comes to grace.
Mormons believe that Jesus opened the door for us to be saved. However, in order to be saved, you have to live a worthy life--and walk through the door yourself. Therefore, Mormons believe you are saved by works--and after you do everything in your power to be righteous, that's when Jesus' grace kicks in.
Christians believe that there is nothing we can do to save ourselves. It's through our faith in Jesus that we're saved. As the following scriptures say, (ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 3:20-31, & Romans 10:9-13) we're saved by grace alone, but our faith in Jesus convicts us to follow the law. (ephesians 2:8-9, "For it is by gracce you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--NOT BY WORKS, so that no one can boast."
This may seem like a small difference between Mormons and Christians, but it's HUGE!! Therefore, even though Mormons call themselves Christian (and say they have to be since their church has His name in it and since they have the BOM.."another testament of Christ"...then they have to be Christian) they're not Christian because they follow a gospel OTHER than the one Jesus Christ laid out.
#2: Who Jesus Christ is-- God or fellow spirit brother?
When you get to the HEART of who Jesus Christ is, the Jesus of the Mormon faith is NOT the same Jesus Christ of the Christian faith-- The theology between Mormonism and Christianity differs with: who Jesus is, where He came from, His grace, and His relationship with God (trinity vs. mormon's "godhead").
Mormons believe that Jesus was a spirit brother like you, me & Satan-- Where the Bible very clearly states that Satan was a fallen angel (Isaiah 14:12-23). The Bible also states clearly that Jesus has existed since the beginning. It also states that Jesus is God.
Now, since you responded to my other question, I know you have a very difficult time believing/understanding the trinity, let alone that Jesus is God.
Let me just say, off the bat, that I asked Mormons if Jesus was God to see if you'd ever thought of it in that way. Obviously, you had, since you admitted that you do believe in multiple Gods. If you SAY believe of the Jesus Christ of the Bible, then there are several references to Jesus Christ being God himself-- not one in purpose. not given the opportunity to kinda be the "father" of this world. Jesus Christ is God. It also says that there is no other God besides God himself.
Why do I believe in the trinity? Well, first of all, John 1:1 gives a great (seemingly definition-like) of the trinity. I will use the Greek translation so there is no confusion in how this was translated, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and God was the Word." The concept of the trinity is the only way to make scriptures like this make sense.
So how do I come to terms with the trinity? Honeslty? I don't. I know that I'm a sinner. I know that I'm just human. I know that God is amazing. He's huge! He's the Alpha Omega! The beginning and End! The great I AM. Who am I to question His motives? Who am I to begin to guess or explain how things work? He's God! For anyone to say that they can understand God and get to the heart of who he is--is lying or severely misguided.
At the same time, we all like to have an answer to everything. How does the trinity work? What will heaven be like? Will I see my family? And the answer to all of these questions is the same: It doesn't matter.
All the matters is that Jesus Christ was literally the son of GOD and he came to earth and saved us by dying on the cross. He rose again! There is life forever in Jesus Christ. He is big! He is powerful! He is God! And to say otherwise takes away from the divinity of Christ--
Which is why Mormons aren't Christian. You don't believe in the same message of the Bible from Jesus Christ and God. (You believe it was distorted and believe the twisted version of the truth.) You don't believe that Jesus Christ is God as in God the father--you don't believe Jesus Christ and God have been forever and will always be forever. (You believe they've only been "forever" over this world.) You limit God. And even more blasphemous, you believe you will be a God.
I would much rather spend my days on earth and in heaven glorifying God and Jesus Christ-- Proclaiming to everyone how important Jesus' message was and is. I am glad that I'm free of thinking and upholding this fakeness of "worthiness" and "righteousness"--especially, when the Bible says that we can't be worthy or righteous!
I spent 18 years as a worthy, temple-attending Mormon. I left the church because God showed me the truth--after I went looking for it. Take the church up on its challenge--the worst that could happen is that it'd strengthen your testimony. The best that could happen, is that you'd finally hear the TRUE good news and understand once and for all that Mormons aren't Christian.
Do you remember that poem about walking on the beach with Jesus? Notice how it didn't say in that poem: and I got down every 10 steps to walk next to Jesus. It says that Jesus carried me the entire way.

Hi sunnyannie. I'm not an evangelical in the manner of Pat Robertson or Jerry Falwell or some of the other mega-ministers but Mormanism is a false Gospel, and God tells us that it is. First when Joesph Smith said God had sent him revelation and added more books to the Bible, all true believers knew this was false. In Revelations 22:18:19 God tells us very clearly not to add to his Word, The Bible:
"For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."
My second answer is the Mormans have denied the Deity of Christ. The Trinity. The Godhead that The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirt are one. God tells us without a doubt that The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirt are one in
Isaiah 9:6:
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."
Who is the Counsellor, The mighty God,The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace? Who is the Child who is to be born and will be know as all Three? It could be no one other than The Lord Jesus Christ.

The Bible says there is only 1 God. Mormons say that there are more.
The Bible lays out a clear consistent path for salvation. The Mormons have multiple books and they present an indirect path to salvation where 1 path is stated in one book and it is later contradicted in the same or next book. Suffice to say that it is confusing the path to salvation
The issue of blood atonement and what role it plays is another BIG problem.
If you want more information about Mormonism, have a look at Berean Christian Ministries bcmmin.org or Mormon Research Ministries mrm.org Both groups have done extensive research and have published much of it on the web.

Mormons believe that the means are justified by the ends. They say that they believe that Jesus is the son of God but they don't believe that he is deity.
If Jesus is not deity then he is just a normal man and his sacrifice on the cross would not have any power to forgive our sins since only a willing and sinless human sacrifice was an acceptable offering in ancient law.

1) That the Mormons follow a different gospel, given to them by Joseph Smith, supposedly by the angel Moroni. The Bible tells us at Galatians 1:
8 "But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed."
2. That Joseph Smith spoke many false prophesies. God tells us not to follow false prophets, or we will share in the false prophet's punishment (Deut. 18:20-22 and Zech. 13:4).
Here are only a few of his false prophesies:

I once had Mormon neighbours and a nicer family you couldn't wish to meet. I've also spoken with Mormon missionaries and they came along to my church once when I invited them. I've also been along to their church and have studied their beliefs but I disagree strongly with their teachings. Here are the two main reasons why:
1. They have added to God's Word.
2. They don't accept what the Bible tells us about the person of Jesus and who he really is.
Applesoup has given a really good answer. If I could vote, I would vote for her!

Secret practices make the Mormons more of a club or a fraturnity then a religion. Their insistence that other religions are wrong could also be a factor.

They believe Satan is Jesus brother- when the Bible is clear Jesus is the son of God....and He is LORD OF LORDS!
Luke 6:5
Then Jesus said to them, "The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath."
-They also believe they will be the god of their own planet after this life- and that they are the only ones who will inherit this- which is NOT biblical whatsoever- check out Revelation--Heaven is God's kingdom- the New Jerusalem where only those who are saved in JESUS CHRIST will be. Their jesus is not Jesus- but a false god.

(1) There are "Assurance" of Salvation - You can know where you go when you die. For the Mormon's You Dont know for sure.
(2) That Jesus was really the fleshly manifestation of God, and not just another one of God's son.
