I've read a lot of VERY innacurate claims made against the Catholic Church since I've started using Y!A. Claims that we pray to Mary, worship the Pope, are idolators, are un-biblical, etc... What I'd like to know is this: Of the people who have criticized Catholicism, are you basing the statements you make on personal experience with the church, or on what you hear from other members of YOUR faith?

Mostly from studies done over a lifetime on theology and the Bible. Why don't you list these inaccurate claims one at a time and let us answer why we think they are inaccurate? Are you saying Catholics don't pray to Mary? Why have I heard many Caholics start their prayers with "Holy Mary, Mother of God..."? Why to Catholics bow and kiss the hand of the Pope? Why do you have icons (idols) on the dash of your car? I know of many doctrines that are not Biblical, Priests, Nuns, Confession, Rosary, Purgatory, Infalibility of the Pope, Christening of Babies, last rites, etc.etc.
