That's right, the former NFL star who gave his life for his country in the War on Terror, lived and died an atheist. His younger brother, who is still in the military, is also an atheist.

So how do people who say that there are no atheists in foxholes deal with this? Or more importantly, how do they deal with www.atheistfoxholes.org, which lists hundreds of atheists and humanists who have fought and died for their country in her foreign wars? Is there a coherent response, or do you just insult the dead and give some sarcastic answer?

I mean, don’t you ever just get tired of the constant religious debate which we all know (if there is any sense in us at all) will not become resolved anytime soon; at least not here on earth anyway. Do you ever start feeling like it’s pointless and endless no matter which side you’re on?

I do, however I don’t think that means that I’m going to stop talking about theology any time soon because it’s my passion, but I certainly do need a break every now and then myself.

I want to direct this question towards everyone, theists and non-theists alike.

Many major religions and their holy books, including Catholicism, Islam, and Orthodox Judaism, put women in a secondary, or lower, role in that religion. Do you really think God would not consider a women fully equal to a man? Sounds to me like many religions were created by men. Doesn't that bother you? It bothers me.

As a christian myself, I can't understand why some people believe that the king james version is the only version of the Bible that we should read. why? today, most people can't understand it due to the old language. wouldn't that hinder the impact Christ could have? nobody objected when Jerome translated the Bible into Latin, which -has- changed over time, just like English has. He translated the Bible into the language that people could understand. why should NIV and NASB not be read while only KJV should?

also, if some people think that KJV is only holy version, why not -only- read the Hebrew OT and Greek NT? It's in the original, pure language which gets translated into english. wouldn't it be better to read it in Hebrew and Greek? Like, wouldn't that be the "more holy" version, to continue with the idea?

...such as Wicca, Buddhism, Taoism, etc., but yet if anyone says anything negative or critical about what they believe (or even poses a question about a particular belief from their doctrine) they play the "I'm being persecuted" card?

I'm not speaking about ALL fundamentalists, either, and I'm not only talking about fundamentalist Christians, either. This is just something I have noticed.

If Buddha really was a thin guy, why do the statues always show a big bellied, robust, jenny craig looking Buddha? Just curious thanks.

Why their God practiced Judaism (Jesus), but they practice Christianity? I'm not meaning to offend, but doesn't this seem a little odd?
If they are to do what He did, does that not apply to His religion & faith & religious observances?
Can anyone explain or reconcile this?

Different religions are having a hard time getting along with each other. Muslims think Christians are going to hell, Christians think Muslims are going to hell, Hindus think we are comming back as a cow or hummingbird. Worshipers of Poseidon thought we must appease the Sea God with burnt offerings.....

Question:
Isn't it time that we learn to respect everyone's superstitions?

Isn't it time that Christians, Muslims, Alchemists, Sorcerers, Witches and Followers of Ra The Sun God, all join hands and share their superstitions with each other?

Didnt Jesus have a beard? Moses had one so some jews keep the beard. Same with the muslims & sikhs. I have hardly seen a Christian with a beard. If you dont keep it, its your choice but the next time you mock the beard, remember Jesus had one.

for those of you who said. SOMETIMES the answer is no...

then say we take 1 million people who all are missing a limb of some kind. all of them christian and all of them pray for their limb to grow back. why does god answer no to all of them?

this is called a statistic is it not? people can naturally (or with help of science/doctors) recover from cancer, and the flu,

so why then will god "sometimes" answer yes to things that can happen regardless of his help, and "always" answer no to things that cant happen without his help?

I had a daydream awhile ago. I dreamed about a voice. I saw a vague figure but his voice stood out to me ,mostly. It began to speak and it said to me " People are evil. Their thoughts are evil continually. If given a chance they will attempt to destroy you. You will have very few people in your life that will love you. Hold on to those few people and pray for the rest. Money is god in this world. People worship money and will do anything for it. I have allowed you to be "poor" so you will see your enemies and friends as they are. Remember who they are when you become rich. It's okay to have one friend that loves you than a million enemies who pretend they love you. It's okay to be alone." What this voice said to me, I have never forgotten and never will. How do you feel about this?
