maybe not the start of the end of the world but the start of some serious problems

Um... No.

If it was the end of anything, it would be a few species, perhaps the human race. But it would NOT be the end of the Earth. Earth is a pretty hardy planet. Just because we might be gone doesn't mean that it will cease to exist.

And, actually, global warming is a theory. If you examine graphs of average temperatures of cities all over the world, so increase, some decrease, and some are stable. There is no proof that the warming noticed is GLOBAL in nature. Personally, I think it's just from urbanization. (For more information, Michael Crichton's State of Fear has quite a bit of data on the subject.)

There is not sufficient scientific evidence indicating that this is likely. For that matter, global warming is a pretty ridiculous idea. Sure it's entirely possible that the global temperature is getting a little warmer, but the simple fact is that we do not have the necessary scope of data or understanding of our environment to have any idea if this is actually happen of if it's a bad thing. Think about it, how long have we been monitoring GLOBAL temperature? this is limited to the life of satellite technology. Then there is the issue of green house gases which is the biggest farse because people have no idea how all of that works. Just recently it was discovered that trees release large quantities of methane into the atmosphere, far to much to be made up for by the amount of C02 that they remove yet for decades we have believed that they reduced green house gases. My point is that we are rushing to judgement about something that we know far too little about. Finally, I am a firm believer in taking care of our environment and reducing emissions, but because it the right thing to do as stewards of the earth and not because we're scared to death that we're all going to die because Al Gore had a cool slide show.

It is one of the scientific signs. Over the centuries, your planet was a curious place to visit once or twice and was not considered very interesting . Sure, your wars showed us how undeveloped you are as a species. Your infantile,(in cosmic terms) dependence on god concepts does not bode well for you and neither does your penchant to breed beyond your planet's ability to sustain you. We are now showing an interest in you because it is not often that we get to observe a species commit suicide. You are so close to maturing as a sentient species and it will be a shame to see you kill yourselves. There are just not enough of you becoming rational enough to force the issue. You let the least among you determine your fate, so be it.

Calm down, No it is not the end of the world. Although global warming is a very serious event, it is not a religious thing. We humans are doing it to ourselves. I suggest you see the movie/documentary by Al Gore "The Inconvenient Truth" We all need to help our planet !!!
