I mean, don’t you ever just get tired of the constant religious debate which we all know (if there is any sense in us at all) will not become resolved anytime soon; at least not here on earth anyway. Do you ever start feeling like it’s pointless and endless no matter which side you’re on?

I do, however I don’t think that means that I’m going to stop talking about theology any time soon because it’s my passion, but I certainly do need a break every now and then myself.

I want to direct this question towards everyone, theists and non-theists alike.

Yes, sometimes I get sick of it. Mostly just the ridiculous stuff. So many people aren't honest with themselves and that becomes very frustrating. I don't expect to change the minds of most of the people who I debate, however, I expect that there are lurkers who may be greatly effected by the debate. Not so much whether I am right or wrong, but the spirit in which we debate I think makes a big difference to people

I am not so much tired of the religious debates as I am disappointed by the enthusiastic ignorance of so many people who seem to be living at the edge of a cave. I have intelligent friends and family, so it's depressing to come here and see evidence of this blind-faith fundamentalism in our soon to be 2007 society.

I never get tired of the debate. Whether people accept the word of God as being true or not the seed is being planted. Besides I always say that just because you don't believe something it doesn't mean it isn't true or has a consequence. Unfortunately, for many unbelievers and haters of God when the truth is made known in the day they take their last breath it will be too late for them know the truth and how to believe in your heart. When debates get hot, loud, or stupid I just cut off the conversation and go to the next subject. Debate is good.

When I first found this site, I was excited about debating theology. Within a short time, I found it tiresome to see the lack of respect for people's beliefs (this includes religious, atheists, etc...).
My job as a Christian is not to make people believe. It is to spread the word of God. If people don't want to believe, that is their prerogative. I now only visit the site periodically.

If people are asking actually questions and making valid points, no. That's the point. We need to sort this out. We need to find the truth in all the paperwork. It will take a collective mind and many years to comprehend what the PoB is really trying to say.

If they are just trolling, then those guys can be burned at the stake. best wishes.

Sometimes I get weary of the same questions being asked over and over again, but this forum has actually increased my faith in God. I find I want to understand His Word better and started listening to "Thru the Bible" radio program where it takes 5 yrs to get through the bible, but Pastor J. Vernon McGee explains so clearly what things mean. There are a lot of people in need of God and they want truth I hope some find it in Christ. Don't get discouraged.

well that's life sweetheart people don't always see things eye to eye the one thing i wish everybody would do to make a little more peacefull for everybody would be to address one another with respect and dignity instead of blasting eachother on every subject that comes up that's what i decided i'm gonna do from now on i hope other people can take the baton and follow the lead and keep it going

Hatred will never go away. It's just part of the fallen condition humans are in.

The reason Christians -should- be debating other people is because they care about their eternal destination. They don't (or at least -shouldn't-) want people to "burn in hell;" they want people to enjoy eternity basking in the joy that comes from the knowledge of God's love and plan for salvation. However, God has given humanity free will and will not force anyone to be with Him if they do not want to. That's what makes God so loving! He gave us the freedom to choose to either be with Him or without Him for eternity! Amazing.

I don't know about that. I think there's a little bit of sense creeping into some of the heads of people who come by here, so that's good. No-one expects to change everybody's mind. Little by little, that's good enough for me.

Yes. I think nobody wants to be proven wrong. If you say i was wrong its like saying i was stupid. To me i dont get mad about what people wanna believe in. I do get angry when they think there is no way in hell they can be wrong. We are all human we should realize we might be wrong. Also i find many religious people have a lacking understanding of science.
