THE HISTORY OF JEHOVAH'S WITNESS

Charles Taze Russell, born Feb.
16, 1852, was the founder of "Zion's
Watch Tower Tract Society", who later
became known as Jehovah's Witnesses.
Russell lived in Pittsburg and He was
not educated beyond the seventh grade,
he had no theological training, and knew
neither Greek nor Hebrew. Russel's
church background was Scotch-Irish
Presbyterian, although he became an
agnostic early in life. Later he
returned to the study of the scriptures
and became convinced that the Bible did
not really teach such doctrines as the
Trinity, the Diety of Christ, the Bodily
resurrection of Christ and the existance
of hell. In 1884 he and a group of like
minded people formed the "Zion's Watch
Tower Tract Society". Russell perjured
himself in court, and his wife was given
a decree of divorce because the Judge of
the High Court of Ontario opined that no
woman of ordinary sensibility could live
with a man of so much egotism and
arrogance. Russell wrote numerous
articles and published a six-volume
series of books entitled, "Studies in
the Scriptures". Russell proclaimed
himself "the faithful and wise servant"
of Luke 12:42. Russell died in 1916.

It was started by an imperfect man who was raised on the beliefs of Christendom. He made his mistakes, but make valid efforts to do better. Everything that JWs became did not come from him, but from tens of thousands of JWs reading the Bible and submitting questions about why they were doing something that was not in keeping with the Bible. These things included celebrating man made holidays and involvement in human politics. The witnesses made their mistakes, because it took time and repeated readings by those tens of thousands of witnesses, to see the right path. No, Russell, and likely most of JWs don't have a college education on the Bible, but then they also don't get "PAID" to give an opinion that agrees with the body of the whole. If they did, than you would be like the Pharisees of ancient Israel. They also don't put themselves on pedestals saying, "I'm an authority!"

Hebrews 11:4 lists Adam's martyred son Abel as the first Witness (see Hebrews 12:1).

(Hebrews 11:4) By faith Abel offered God a sacrifice of greater worth than Cain, through which [faith] he had witness borne to him that he was righteous, God bearing witness respecting his gifts

(Hebrews 12:1) So, then, because we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also put off every weight and the sin that easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us

Jehovah's Witnesses both witness personally and bear witness to others regarding God's personal name, his majestic personality, and Kingdom purposes. In doing so, they align themselves with Jesus Christ and the prophets.

(Isaiah 43:10) “You are my witnesses,” is the utterance of Jehovah

(Isaiah 43:12) So you are my witnesses,” is the utterance of Jehovah, “and I am God.

(Hebrews 12:1-2) Because we have so great a cloud of [Jehovah's] witnesses surrounding us, let us also put off every weight and the sin that easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, as we look intently at the Chief Agent and Perfecter of our faith, Jesus

(Revelation 1:5) Jesus Christ, “the Faithful Witness”

(Acts 5:38,39) Do not meddle with these men, but let them alone; (because, if this scheme or this work is from men, it will be overthrown; but if it is from God, YOU will not be able to overthrow them;) otherwise, You may perhaps be found fighters actually against God.”
