You're right, kinda, but missing the point a little. To answer you main question, prayer is the answer for everyone WHO IS A CHRISTIAN.
To answer the point you made that you've gotten through life just fine without all that other stuff, the real point of true Christianity is not to make you life better, if anyone ever told you that, they weren't telling you all the truth. The true point of Christianity is to save a sinner from the wrath of God. So the real million dollar question of your life is not if you can survive through it without God but rather are you good enough to go to Heaven? To answer that you have to ask yourself some questions like, have you kept all of the Ten Commandments. For instance, have you ever lied (even a fib or a white lie)? Have you ever stolen something (no matter what the value is)? Have you ever looked with lust at another person? Jesus said whosoever looks upon woman with lust has committed adultery with her already in his heart. If you answered yes to these then by your own admission you are a lying, thieving adulterer at heart and that's only three of the ten commandments. So you judge yourself, Heaven of Hell?

Hi There.
That's a question everybody would like to know.
I guess belief and faith drives some people to GOD or to a higher force, the answer lies within our being (Self ) we all know the difference between good and bad which is our self conscious, but deep within lies the answer, that still small voice that speaks to us and guides us.
We are all here to learn Katie and your right when you say your life has turned out the way it has because of decisions, we all have choices, and it's up to us to make them, so whether some people make the choice to seek God or prayer for the answer, it's a decision they have made.

In my mind it is true that Jesus and prayer are everything. I have never asked for something (barring a completely irrational or selfish prayer) and been denied. If you want a Scientific answer, then simply stated the mind has huge potential for healing the body and allowing you to see the side of things you might otherwise have ignored. I use biofeedback, which is a scientifically proven method, to get rid of headaches. If I choose to say a diety gives me what I need rather than to say my mind simply fixed the situation for me, what harm have I done to you. I have not evangelized to anyone, nor would I. You ( meaning most of the people here) are adults who have a firm belief in something, be it God or science. You have come to whatever faith you have or do not have through personal experience or book learning. Why then would the opinion of someone you have never seen have any impact on what your choice is? From all I have seen, people tend to look to people they know and respect for life changing decisions like that.

I agree with some of you. I reckon that religious people turn to god etc as an excuse for their lives being so crappy and not getting what they want. If it wasn't for religion in this world it would be a very peaceful place. You'll also notice that people get very defensive when they know you're right and they can't admit it.
There's nothing wrong with your question at all.

People who commune with and form a real relationship with God change. It is a slow journey for me but I'm sure it is my stubborness and not my Lord's fault. I am much better off than I was before I began this journey but I'm a long way from arriving at my destination. I used to think like you but I changed my mind. I'm happier and less anxious. I know that no matter what in the end it will be OK now.
Jesus is the answer, but to know that you would have to seek Him and then He reveals Himself.

Just imagine how things would be differnet if you did pray. My life changed dramatically when I accepted Christ, honestly. It does make a difference and you don't really have anyhting to compare to if you have never experienced life as a Christian. It may not be right for you but you have no way of knowing if you don't try it.

Its not all about being religious. Many that claim to be Christian are not. Only those loving Jesus and obey Jesus are Christians. When ppl pray and dont get answers, there are reasons for it. ANd you must pray in faith, many reasons for unanswered prayer, if you study your Bible you learn that.
You say you turned out good because of decisions you made. ok. BUt, who lead you to make those decision, it was God whether you know it or not, IF it was truly a good decison.
The reason that ppl says that Jesus is the answer to everything, is because HE IS .
And, its so exciting to learn that and know it.
But, think on this. if a person is a good decent person and they never believe. what good is it? they lived life here as they wanted, but still chose hell for themsleves. Is anything on this earth worth that?? I dont think so.
Jesus is the way to a better life here, and Jesus is the way to salvation. He truly is OUR BLESSED HOPE.
Thanks for asking the question.

they don't think it, they just say it. If they actually thought that way they wouldn't be taking out loans from banks or going to see doctors or seeing psychologists, or going to the grocery store, or work or any of that because it says in matthew 6:25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?"

My life has been turned around by God.
Before I had faith I was addicted, malnourished, depressed, nearly broke.
I gave my life to Jesus and now I feel I have so much to live for. There are some blessings in life others cannot see. But I see them.

Tell me how you happen to see everyone in the world that prays and have an absolutely correct record of their life including mine.
I put my faith in God, and I got what I needed. If you treat God like some magic fairy that supposed to give you everything just because you ask, then you're horribly conceited.
