Religion & Spirituality - 21 November 2006

Hi Everyone,
My cousin and I were out this weekend and we got into a debate about how much you should give to the church. Now both of us don't go to church, so we really don't have any idea.
So if your a christian and go to church is it 10% of your earnings that your supposted to give to the church?
10% just sounded right to me, but she thought that was way to high.
What do you all think?

now everytime i flip channels and see some religious tv show at the bottom of the screen they have a number and it says call for prayer now my question is this why? cant you pray fo yourself or is this some scam to alleviate gullible christians from their money

He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.

People use this quote to show that the bible claims that the earth is spherical. A circle is a planar shape, not a spherical one. Black Parade Billie also pointed out that Lucifer supposedly took Jesus to a high mountain and showed him the entire earth. These two biblical passages both support a plate-shaped earth, not a spherical. I'm not trying to insult your holy, book, but you can't try to cover up this fact...

well I grew up as a Jew-taught Jesus was a liar and deciever-and I knew believing in him was going against my religion-so I had the prison of unbelief! first he had to help me see that my porn and lust wasnt fulfilling my soul and belief in marriage and true commitment and honor-those bars shattered in my prison-

yet I didnt have power to keep from getting locked back up within that prison. and drinkin on weekends only added to the problem-I could only mask my inner emptiness so long.

yet He opened some of the prison for me when I read the Jewish scriptures predictions of the Messiah
Isaiah 52:13-53:12 written 700 bce "He will be exalted. He will first be marred more than any man. He will be despised and rejected (by my Jewish people& many today use his name as a curse word and even here -come to be mean if you ask a question about someone they dont even want to believe in)
Isaiah went on-"He will lay down his life to make atonement for sins."

1. the treaty of tripoli is not a founding legal document of th US.
2. Read the constitution people. it recognizes the CHRISTIAN GOD not the islamic god or karma.
3. the legal foundation of the US is the Constitution. an the following years were governed by the men who had a hand in writing, and ratifying it. They SURELY knew what it was all about, much more than AN living college prof. (liberal OR conservative)
These men also built STATE constitutions that REQUIRED that CHRISTIANITY be the religion for governors and other public servants, although a particular denomination was never an issue or requirement!

I m VERY tired of the false intellectuals who know NOTHING or very little, claiming that these things, supported by mountains of documents from the founding fathers that ABSOLUTELY ESTABLISHES the CHRISTIAN underpinnings of the USA!
