I once read in a newspapar that a hindu lady got her daughter married to a dog ?

I mean she was a 6 year old child why would she do that?

It was said she was a very religous women

What I mean is , is this something people would do in hinduism and why??

Well i never heard of it before and i don't believe that it was her religious act, i think that lady was insane,None of the religions allow such kind of practise.atleast i never heard of it.
