The holy Quran has the following to say:

Men are in charge of women, because Allah hath made the one of them to excel the other, and because they spend of their property (for the support of women). So good women are the obedient, guarding in secret that which Allah hath guarded. As for those from whom ye fear rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge them (4:34).

Women's testimony is equal to half that of a man:
Get two witnesses, out of your own men, and if there are not two men, then a man and two women, such as ye choose, for witnesses, so that if one of them errs, the other can remind her (2:282).

Polygyny, and sex with slave and captive women:
"If ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly with the orphans, marry women of your choice, two or three or four; but if ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one, or (a captive) that your right hands possess, that will be more suitable, (4:3).

When debating the viability of the Chrsitian religion with Christians themselves, i almost always hear the argument that people wouldn't allow themselves to be killed for lies or they wouldn't give up their lives for a false religion.

If you extrapolate this argument it becomes an argument for the divinity of Jim Jones. His hundreds of followers all willingly took cyanide laced flavor-aide to end their lives because they believed Jim Jones to be the second coming of Christ.

Either the argument can be made that Jim Jones was indeed Christ himself, or that this is a flawed argument and people will simply do just about anything out of faith.

I read where an atheist said that he was without sin. Sin is what makes me feel guilty for something that I know that I've done wrong. Just wondered if atheists can do wrong without feeling guilty?

Seriously, If he's such a sweetheart, nice guy holy man, why would people want to kill him? and if god is so great and powerful, why would he let anybody kill the pope? and if the pope has some kind of special connection to god, then he should be assured that even if he does die, he will go to heaven, so what is he afraid of?

according to what i was always taught that according to the bible in order to reach heaven you have to have a personal relationship with Christ ok lets say a man spends his whole life helping others donating food and clothing to the homeless feeding the starving children his entire life devoted to helping others and not thinking of himself are you to tell me that when he reaches heven God is gonna be like i know you did all those wonderful things and all that is in your heart is goodness but you never embrased me or got to know me so im gonna have to send you to hell. see i cant believe that would be so i think if that was the case God would be more like i know you did all those things you were always a positive note i never got to know you how bout you come in and let me get to know you now. i cant believe that a supreme being that is so forgiving and loving would turn some one away just because they didnt totally embrase him all i want from you is what are your feelings on this and y
