I try to say grace before every meal. I think it is the only sure way to ward off food borne illness. "How can your Father in Heaven give you a snake if you ask for bread?"

The holiday is THANKSGIVING. The purpose of the day isn't totally about stuffing yourself with too much food then complaining about the tummy ache. Thanksgiving is a day for family, friends, and yes feasting, but we should think about the blessings we have recieved and be truly thankful for all of them. Everyone has something to be thankful for and a prayer of thanks to the one from whom all blessings flow is not only appropriate but I think manditory to properly celebrate the day.

My family hasn't prayed over a meal since five years ago when we went over to a friend's house for thanksgiving. We never say a meal blessing before a meal.

I don't know Grace. I suppose she could show up and someone would yell GRACE! but it's very doubtful! :)

They should, because not only did the pilgrims thank the Indians, they also thanked God. Although some of today's history books are erasing this very important fact!!!!!

I'll be thanking the farmers that grew the food, the laborers who picked it, and my mother who cooked it. God has nothing to do with my food...

While my extended family sits in my dining room and is about to eat the meal that I paid for and prepared I will still have to listen to their foolish praise and thanks to their imaginary friend.
