The Trinity is a pagan concept that originated in Greek philosophy almost 500 years before Christ. This also where the church developed its doctrine of Jesus as the Word (or equal to God). According to Greek philosophy--which is also written in the New Testament book of John--the 'word' (Greek word = "Logos") is a description of Zeus written of by a Philosopher called 'Hereclitus', a Greek who lived around 504BC.

He used his theory to describe what he thought was the God of all things, Zeus. Christians took this philosophy and used it to write of Jesus in the same context Hereclitus wrote of Zeus. This deiefid Christ in the minds of the early church as God incarnate and the theory eventually led to the concept of the trintity.

Almost all of Christian doctrine and theology can be traced to The Book of John.

What is your concept of the Trinity? Do you know its origin?

If I'm wrong and it turns out there is a God, can I just say:
"Well, sorry, clearly I was wrong, but you obviously created me, gave me the gift of an intelligent and analytical brain and left me to go and work things out for myself. As you are omniscient and omnipotent, you knew I was barking up the wrong tree, but allowed me to carry on doing so. Basically, God, it's your own fault I didn't believe in you - you made me this way."

Or might this not wash the Almighty?

Does it mean we must "forget," in a way? When ppl say, "I'll forgive but I won't forget," are they kidding themselves? I'm confused.

Suppose you went to sleep and found yourself in a dream that became your reality in waking into it and you could examine how your life was exactly on track, exactly how you combined with other parts of God planned it and there was a general sense of awe and grace and gratitude around you from every other communicative part of God there in that heavenly state and you were so relieved and comforted and found that you had other avenues to relate with the humans alive on earth sometimes, mostly with them not knowing, sometimes being allowed to relieve their senses of righteousness so as to relieve their pressures, a layer of existence and control beyond humanity, but not with any total power there either, but you were relieved and entertained by the creation that you came from and that you now could interact with even in becoming recreated into it from that conscious collection of heavenly will. How would you feel about that?

there is this muslim woman married to a catholic man in the Philippines. they remained "secular" or "maintained their own religions by being married under the government, not in the mosque or in the church. they didn't marry under their religion because they aren't the same in terms of religion and that they refuse to be of the same religion (either muslim or catholic). now they have four children, the first child became a catholic, the second, a muslim, the third child, a muslim and the youngest a catholic. is that right? for me, i think it is just a good decision because they fought for their love, no matter how strict both islam and christianity (roman catholicism) when it comes to marriages.

Are we moderns just able to get a glimpse of what ancients knew, or could it be that we are mentally and spiritually more evolved than them, in other words we are able to do what they did and even improve on it and discover more secrets about the spiritual universe that the ancients didn’t know?

Anyone can answer. I'll put this up for a vote to see who gets best answer. Just ten true or false questions:
1) Constantine did not "found" Christianity, but legalized it in the Roman Empire.
2) The purpose of the Council of Nicea was to decide whether or not Jesus actually WAS God.
3) Christianity wasn't that heavily persecuted in the beginning.
4) The Dead Sea Scrolls revealed that the Bible had been BADLY mistranslated.
5) The Bible was written over a span of 1500 years, by many different authors.
6) In 90 AD, in the Council of Jamnia, the Old Testament Canon was officially decided, but it had been decided a long time before that unofficially.
7) It was a heretic named Marcion who caused an official canon of the New Testament to be agreed upon.
8) December 25th was named as Christ's birthday to make the conversion easier for pagans.
9) The Apocrypha isn't included in most Bibles because the councils didn't like what was written in the books.

Continued for number 10.

The Ouija Board...Have your heard anything about the dangers of using one? I have heard of a few things, evil, concerning this. ( I do NOT use one, and never would) I just want to know your experiences or thoughts about this, possibly as a warning to others who think it's just a game.
