It's important to keep it HOLY because God instituted it for our own good, and because God created in 6 days and rested on the 7th day..( Saturday noon to Sunday noon)

NO, 10 commandments = Law
keeping the Sabbath is keeping the law we are no longer under the law but under grace. Rom.6:14
The law was a school master to teach us of our sins until grace came through Christ. So that no man can have an excuse before God the law was made. Rom.3:19
If you want to continue in the law then you will be judged under the law.
Gal.3:10 But those who depend on the law to make them right with God are under his curse, for the Scriptures say, "Cursed is everyone who does not observe and obey all these commands that are written in God's Book of the Law."
All this is saying is if you try to stick to the law which you cannot keep if you break one law you have broken them all therefor you are guilty and condemned.
But through Gods grace and faith in His Christ we have grace and are no longer under the law.
Gal. 5:18 if we are led by the Spirit then we are not under the law.
Christ made te law harder to obey when he said even if you angry with your brother with out cause you are guilty of murder. If you look at a woman with lust you are guilty of adultery.
So you see we can never keep the Law so that is why Christ died to fulfill the law then to give us a new covenant under Grace.
hope this helped a little. e-mail me if you still want to know more.

Perhaps you didn't get the memo?

faith in the LORD JESUS CHRIST..is the necessary ingredient for salvation..without faith it is impossible to please GOD..we are save by grace through FAITH and not by works...otherwise CHRIST death on the Cross becomes futile..Eph 2;8-10/Rom 6;1-4
