Hello fellow atheists! Fundies often think we are no better than animals (or at least they talk to us like we are freaks), so lets prove the wrong. What inspires you? How do you define right and wrong? Just looking for personal statements of belief, maybe things you have done to act on those beliefs. Just want to prove a confused muslim friend of mine wrong. Most moving and eloquent speech will get best answer.

I love all aspects of Islam. But my favorite things is God mercy upon us. He gives us rules and makes a way for us follow them. He forgives us when we ask and guides us when we seek the truth. The laws He has handed down to us keep us pure and keeps society running smoothly(when followed). He truly is Ar Raheem(The Most Merciful)

I personaly do my best to fit my life into Gods laws. God created me and He commands certain things from me. I believe that I should put Him first and fit my life around what He has told me to do.

an issue with the wiccan symbols on veteran's headstones? Two widows in Madison, Wisconsin sued for this yesterday. What do you think is the reason why our Government, founded on the premise of religious freedom, would deny them the right to be buried with the dignity befitting their station and the respect due their religious beliefs? Do we need to start a petition to the Government?

As a Muslim are you a brother and sister to all Muslims or only to sunnis? or maybe only to shiias? if you are only a brother or a sister to sunnis do you go further to divide that down to wahabis or whatever your specific sect?

As Muslims do we have the right to decide which among the Muslims is our a part of our community? If we all believe in One God and Muhammad(saw) as His Prophet... we all pray 5x and we all pay Zakat... is not our unity in a time like this the most vital for survival in a time like this?

how many of you in a Western country have not been discriminated against? is you saw a Muslim that was pushed to the ground would you not pick her up because she was not sunni or not shiia?

this discrimination and ignorance that breeds within Islam is killing the ummah.

any thoughts?

just wanna clear a couple of facts up.
Most of you seem to be confused when it comes to the fact that muslim men are given beautiful women in paradise.
let me tell you what islam says:
first of all, intention is extremely important in islam.Everything has to be done for the sake of Allah if the single motivating factor for a man to adhere to islam is the anticipation of the women in paradise that messes with his intention, He has to do what he does for the love of Allah.
If muslims were really that sex crazed as some of you claim- they do not need to adhere to the islamic laws which forbid adultry and fornication in the first place.
You cant deny that men love women so its only reasonable that beautiful women are a boon in pradise.Which man would refuse a woman beautiful ,pure and lawful to him offered to him by god?.Muslim men are human too, they have desires related to women just like anybody else but they control it for the love of god.

on having anyone be nice to a question or answer I post. There have been some of course who seem open minded but the vast majority seem to just want to hate. So my question this morning is, do you think it is religion on it's own that makes people so mean or is it the fact that once you say you are a believer others automatically assume you are on the lower end of the intelligence pool?

if we take Religion out of government we cater to the minority and lower our standards

we do this with our schools we do this with our language with our civl services why should we do it with our government ?

Trinity is a word that was never found in bible, neither was clearly resolved by any Christian on earth.

Instead of explaining it , Christians tell you "you can never know the reality of God"!! , most of our minds, however, tend to believe God's reality is more simple than this, why would God want to confuse us about himself?????

Recent researches - by Christian institute in London- showed that over 65% of Christians converting to other religions do that because they never believed that Jesus was son of God , and therefore they deny the trinity...

I've been listening to Richard Dawkins and it seems so disheartening. To think were here on mere happenstance. Evolution is a controlled process, but what started that process ? Is it not possible that the big bang happened and was indeed started by a designer. I can see no other viable alternative. The universe must have a beggining and an end. Even if this universe was birthed from previous one, there was still a beginning and an end. I believe God can exist. He has always been there, and by that definition he exist outside the real of the natural, therefore concluding he is supernatural. This is the only way i can think with my tiny brain that this universe was created. I mean if not by a designer than by how, and not only that, but created from what ? I want to find books, not nescicarily christian ones, but books that can go toe to toe with dawkin's and other's assertions of the absence of a creator

The USA was founded on GOD FEARING CHRISTIAN BELIEFS it is even in our constitution, but yet i see people wanting to take this out of the USA

WHy change america ? Why change it from the reason it was created ?

the WHOLE purpose of the USA was to practice Christian Faiths away from the rule of England.

So to take this out of our system would to be change the whole reason why we came here in the first place,

Why should the Majority change all that for the minority ( homosexuals athiests etc ) ?

Abraham and Isac are the anscestors of the Jews and Ishmael was the ansestor of the Arabs, who later copied the Jews and made it seem as though their religion is the "true religion". Muslims prophet(s) changed the copied and changed the Jewish manuscripts to make it appear as though Ishmael was the one whom Abraham tried to sacrifice. God's promise to Abraham was through Isac(legitimate) and not Ismael( son of Sarahs servant girl ). How can you say that the Quran is the truth when it is full of contradictions?
