I can't imagine where you came to that crazy conclusion. When people fight their wars, religion is only ever used as an excuse, there is always an underlying problem that they are covering. Besides which, it usually isn't the Christians doing the fighting, it's the Jews and the Muslims fighting each other most of the time and neither of them believe in the sacrificial death on the cross.
Anyway, banning religion would be impossible, as has been proved in places all over the world. If it comes to choosin between what God tells us to do and what the Government says, someone who really believes their faith will follow God, despite the consequences.
But the point really is that banning religion would be taking away our rights. If drug addicts can now sue prisons for depriving them of their rights to have drugs, then religion certainly can't be banned.

Saying religion should be banned or people should quit religion is a very wide generalization.
You mentioned Jesus name, does it mean that you come up with your conclusion based on your perception on Christians religion or after you have study and thoroughly understand all main religions in this world?
One should not make a generalization on all religions (by saying religions are bad or religions should be banned) if one have not study thoroughly and understand fully the teaching of other religions.
If you see a man near your neighborhood murdered someone, do you say that particular man is bad or you make a generalization and say all men are bad? As we know not all men are bad.

As an agnostic I find your statement a little odd. It is human nature to fight for what you believe in, people over the centuries have only used faith as an excuse. These days it still goes on, but who is to say that it is not just the same veil (in itself a politically dodgy word) as was all those centuries ago ? A means of gaining vital resources the attacker wishes to attain or maintain ?
As has been said already, many people have tried to ban it, but that only goes to making a martyr of the ideal and so if anything increase its popularity through extremism as seen by the American led force's current actions.
So ... in short no, religion should not be banned, but understood and made into the positive it could be.

Be fair to Jesus; if you'd had nails driven through your hands they'd have quite a bit of blood on them too.
Banning religions only encourages them; the ensuring marginalisation is a breeding ground for extremism. Better to keep them out in the open where you can keep an eye on them, although the USA does seem to have taken this a bit too far in actually letting them run the country.

it a good idea, the right idea........ but you can BAN what people believe, you cant make people think what you want.... only DO what you want.... this is what happened in Russia and Serbia (under Tito)
i agree with you....... that so so so much blood HAS been spilt on Jesus's hands (and other made up gods) and if there was no such thing as religion then there would be no or very few wars... but its too late for that, most people are brainwashed into believing in some sought of "god", and they will continue to fight and kill other innocent people for their beliefs.

Blood is on mans hands, always in the name of religion, not always Jesus - but if you took religion away it would be the name of something else - you won't stop violence and killing if people quit religion.

Religion should not be banned. I think that would be the most ignorant response to religion... I myself am a Buddhist, and while most people think it is a religion, it is really a philosophy and psychology and represents compassion and open mind... Christianity sometimes I'd like to see banned because of the negativity it has caused, but since most politicians are christian, it'd be very hard to do this...

I am personally non religious and do not believe in any of it however I have nothing against those who are into religion.
Religion is supposed to be a personal thing and I think that if you want to believe and worship it should be done in private and in your own home.
Part of my reasons for being non religious is because I find it all confusing and whilst at school we were force fed religion and made to attend classes which I hated,we even get people knocking on our doors trying to sell you their religion and, once I was told I should destroy my Rock Record collection because they were evil.
I do not think religion should be banned and, people get some comfort from their beliefs which is OK for them so,I don't think they should quit as you suggest.

It's not a matter of should religion be banned but when.Bible prophecy tells us that the political element will turn on relgion.
Jesus has nothing to do with the bloodshed that man inflicts on each other.
By careful study of the Bible you will learn that Satan is responsible for world conditions and that very soon now in fulfillment of prophecy Jehovah is going to step in and destroy the wicked and restore the peace and harmony for those who want to worship and obey Him

Are you advocating to abolish the freedom of religion?
People can't choose what they want to believe?
It was people of organized religion that banned together to save those dying from the government's lack of help from the effects of Hurricane Katrina.
It's people of religions who feel compelled to go half way across the world to impoverished nations to build water wells and homes for people who would never be able to pay them back.
It's people of religious faith like Mother Theresa and the Sisters of Charity that take care of people who are dying in the poorest of poor nations. In which the rest of the world doesn't care because their lives are seen as less worthy.
