let me first say that i am a christian.my question is this.is it wrong of me to believe that organized religion is wrong?i mean ive been to so many churches trying to find one that works for me and i havent because of what they preach.for example most religions want to say that others are wrong.by that i mean babtists want to say that lutherans are wrong even though they all believe in the same God.i feel i can still worship God just the same by not going to church.the main reason it bothers me is because it says in the bible not to judge yet every church ive been to seems to constantly judge others.

If you were to spend the night in a hotel, had an encounter with GOD, had no money after the hotel room expense, and wanted to have the word of GOD. Would it be a sin to steal the bible from the hotel room? I mean people take towels, plastic cups, and other things like such all of the time. But what if you stole the bible purely because you just wanted to have the word of GOD? Would that be considered a sin?

...Moths have a tendency to "self-immolate" by flying into fires or burning candles?? I mean, what possible Darwinian adaptation for survival does this meet??
And, what might this tell us about our beliefs in God???

I have had several people tell me this. My question is this: Define lust. Surely it can't be looking upon someone else with a desire of the flesh. If it is, pretty much anyone who has ever had a boyfriend or girlfriend or gotten married has committed this.

I picked up a book at the bookstore that's about Qabbalah, not realizing it was about Qabbalah (nothing on the book jacket indicated Qabbalah), and the more I read the less I'm certain that I care to take the time to finish it. Yes, I know it's good to be well informed about other religions, but I don't have a lot of time these days and it's really not something I find strikes a chord with me. Has anyone else looked into Qabbalah? Is it worth my time beyond just general education, or should I shelve it until after the holidays? Has understanding it proved beneficial to any other Wiccans/Pagans out there? Thanks!

Blessed be.

P.S. - anyone who wants to answer this question to spout hatred or insults at me, or who wants to tell me that I'm following a false path, I'm just going to skip over your questions so you might as well find another question to answer.

I ask this question because my husband back in the day did acid, and traveled to Greatful Dead shows, and Widespread Panic.
Yes in alot of ways he is a hippie, and so am I for that matter. He says that on an acid trip he saw god. Now because this happend to him under the influence he suggests that god is a chemical thing in the brain. HE says yes because I was on drugs you would say I did not see god, but only a manifestation of my thoughts is what I saw. BUt he said how do you know it wasnt. HOw do you know that I was able to see god because the drugs took away my inhibitions, and allowed me to experience god in a tangible way.
I couldnt honestly answer that, cause I really dont know. But he said that if he believe it was god, then he would conclude that it was most spiritual experience he has ever had. But because he was on drugs he knew that it was the drugs, and his brain reacting to the chemicals. And he said it is the same for those who choose to believe. The same he said

I am a Baha'i myself and this is a sincere question asked with complete humility from anyone who is familiar with the profecies of Joseph Smith about the second coming of Christ. Is it true that he has said or written that Christ would return when he himself died? And that he would see Him again if he lived up to a certain age that I don't remember exactly?
If yes how are they interpreted by Mormons.

As we all have known, the various people have written differing accounts - some being contradictory or seeming unreasonable. Part of adopting a religion...finding your own belief, is to decide for yourself which writings you will believe and how much of them you will accept as being true for YOU. There are many "right" beliefs, and even some of what I may feel are "wrong" may not be too wrong.

The people who accept every word & comma of their bible simply are not aware of the history of the making of their bible...or do not care to become aware. There is no proof of when any Bible stories were written for a number of reasons. Eg, due to illiteracy at the time, they would have been passed down orally for generations before being written down. We do not have the original manuscripts as all the biblical manuscripts known are copies. And many more.

If i'm a muslim could agree in some of the bible verses, would you agree too with The Holy Quran?

I guess the ans is no right?

I mean yes its hard since we can't see him, but we can feel him in our hearts. But most people just don't want to take the time to believe, they just want to say that he don't exist.
