you could check more in your church, there could be old people who are alone, and well, I don't know about orphans, but you could sure check for children who are neglected by their parents, after all they also need love. I think church is a good place to start because even the minister might easily know people who are alone like widows and orphans and besides since church is also a network you can know even about people who are not of your church. Its great that you want to help such people. God bless and keep up the good work ! :)

Visiting them is a great way to help. There's probably a lot of them that are lonely and would love the company. And while you are they they might have some small chore that needs to be done that you can help them with. And I don't know about the orphan part cause I don't really know any either. But start with the widow idea and you never know what other opportunities that God might bring your way.

to help the widows and the orphans is really a metaphore for just loving and careing for others. back in jesus' day the widows and orphans did not live good lives. as you might have guessed they were poor and misirable. they didnt have any one to care for them.

Helping them means:
Physically, Mentally, Spiritually and Emotionally
There are plenty of good agencies that help the orphan. Check them out on the web and donate as you wish.

i would contact the local office of family support and they could put you in contact with families that take care of orphans.
As for widows why not monitor the local newspapers the obituaries are a great place to find widows

In your congregation, are there any older folks who could use a hand at the meetings? Are there any youngsters who have only one parent, who could use a role model or mentor? Is there a chance that your family could have one of these brothers or sisters in your congregation over for a meal to be shared? THAT'S the sorts of things we can do to help! You do what you can for who you can, when you can.

Someone asked a question on here 2 or 3 days ago, if it was "wrong" for a christian to be wealthy. I kid you not, 10 of My followers gave a bunch of justification for why I wanted them to rich and even as to why I didn't want them to help the poor.
It's nice to see one of My followers concerned about those bits of My word. The next time something nice happens to you, it's just My way of saying "thanks" to you!
Blessings!

Help them sometimes is just visting them. I had a sweet older lady in my church who I would give rides to when she need it. She has gone home to be with the LORD now. Soo little things you can do will help,
