Islam actually means peace. "Salaam wa Alaikum", the Islamic greeting, means "peace be with you". Why all the anger?

I was wondering why so many people in a congregation get remarried after divorce if it is wrong? Here is a little about my story. After years of childhood abuse and teen abuse from many different individuals, I met my husband and got married. We were married fro 11 years. We had one son. During our marriage there was abuse both physical and mental on both sides. After going into the hospital for approximately 2 months due to stress I decided enough was enough, after one particuliar physical encounter I called the police and we seperated. We both dated others while seperated and we ended up getting divorced. We tried to reconcile later on but I felt the control issues were still there and I felt it detrimental to my son and I and our relationship so I ended it again and seriously tried moving on. While we were married, I had faith, I was a believer but not like I should have been. For about 3 years after the divorce I remained semi single never getting serious and my faith in God grew.

Religion, ideally, is good. I think it's helpful to have a strong set of convictions and ethics for your life, and the afterlife sounds pretty sweet too.

However, organized religion has caused major damage throughout history, and still does to this day. So atheism has it's appeal, but I've found that atheists can be every bit as pretentious and overbearing as any religious fanatic. I believe there is a God, but being a 'casual' christian or catholic or whatever seems to be just as bad for a lot of people.

I'm not ready to take faith out of my life, but stupid athiests and christians make faith (or lack of it) a very confusing thing.

why do Christians complain about being persecuted? I know American Christians that complain about how hard their life is... and how they are always being persecuted. i do not understand this.

try being a Muslim for two minutes! i personally was almost pushed and front of a train. my best friend has been spit on. along with countless other stories of looks, nasty comments, and even a few violent people.

and also, among several different groups of people there are still many out there who hate and say horrible things about jews. i grew up with a Jewish girl, and they were absolutely horrible to her all throughout grammar school. so much so that eventually her parents moved.

i'm not trying to offend anyone but shouldnt the Christians in America appreciate that majority of people here are Christian and that there is at least one church, if not many more, in each town?

I am in NY USA and I got saved by-as a Child I asked who is Jesus-and my Jewish mom said he is a liar and a deciever have nothing to do with him. Yet as life went on-I saw movies about Jesus-like Jesus of Nazareth and the Passion of Christ and new he wasnt a bad person.
I asked my mom what do I do about sin-she said ask your uncle-he said cast bread on water once a year for Yom kippur and your sins will go away. I cried in the bathroom thinkin we are the same as those that go to a priest once a week -we just go once a year-and then can do any sin as much as we desire-as life went on
I went into sin-and felt guilty-
Prophecies told me Jesus was our Jewish Messiah -Isaiah 52vs13-53vs12 written 700 bce "He will be exaulted, He will first be marred more than any man. He will lay down his life to make atonement for our sins."
then I found he spoke from heaven (Revelation1:1& 3:19&20 "Behold I love you & knock on your heart to come in and deliver from sin to be your friend&prayed

I remember hearing, "Knock and it shall be opened" and all that jazz. What's the deal?

I wouldn't be shocked if Jesus came back soon

i think jesus is comming back soon, it sounds nuts i know but i feel it. I always said as a kid when it got to the point that we couldn't even find christians doing the right thing, and living in fear of our own security everyday that it was near. this was weird to think as a kid but it hink we're almost there.

i'd seriously think about changing the way you live your life.

i know thats nuts, but i'm going to.

Source? Read the word...look at the youth, look at the way our society is changing...and then try and find the good, it's hard pressed.

Does anyone else feel this feeling i'm having, i was raised in the word my entire life, i've strayed away from drinking/sex, and maybe my calling is ministry but it's pretty intense, these feeling. i feel like i need to tell everyone i know.

1 Corinthians 10:24 "Let no one seek his own good but that of his neighbor".

My point is....would it matter what religion or faith a person had...or does that verse imply the morality and ethics that we all have within us anyways?
