I offer him praises, sometimes. I promise I'll build loads of churches if he'll make me a millionare. Yet, this never works.

I remember hearing, "Knock and it shall be opened" and all that jazz. What's the deal?

Because when you already have the universe and are still asking for more, you make yourself miserable.

Are you doing god a favor by offering praises>NO...How can you possibly bribe God?.You praise him because he is worthy to be praised, and you should be praising him for what he has already done for you and what he "is" doing for you. Why hasn't he answered your million dollar prayer? Just a guess, but probably because God believes in hard work, he will bless and help those that help themselves. So first you need to come up with a million dollar plan, work on that, then pray. I am sure at that point your prayer will be answered.

Dear dumb180,

i think you're choice of the word "bribe" speaks into what your heart is in asking God. God does not need to make people millionaires to build churches and he deserves praise because He is and not because we get something in it for return.

God promises to hear everyone's prayer but he also tells us that we don't receive what we want sometimes because we ask amiss (with wrong motives).

Knock and it shall be opened up to you... is not only a consistency in asking- but also a consistency in sincerity and humbleness of heart towards God.

First and foremost you gotta remember God sees our hearts and no one can deceive him. So i can tell you that persistent prayer works, and God doesn't always answer every prayer... but he knows our hearts when we ask... and He always has our best interest in mind...

hope that helps,

Nickster

There is a word that says: Ask and ye shall receive......

Yet, we are also told not to tempt God.....

Satan had taken Christ up on a mountain and told him that if he threw himself down, that God gave charge to the angels to deliver him up so unless (at ANY time) his foot wouldn't dash against a stone....

He said: Get behind me satan.... it is written not to tempt the Lord your God......

he tried to bribe Christ with all the nations of the world.....

The world is satan's right now....

He too said, "I will give you all of this".......

His problem was that he purposely misquoted the Scripture.... he just had it all wrong.....

Perhaps you are praying and not believing in your prayers. One can pray and doubt and miss God. The deal is tha tyour motives may not be right cause God knows who to trust with his goodness.

I rub my lucky rabbit's foot for good luck. But is has to be a REAL rabbit's foot, not those fake, synthetic ones they sell in the store. And you have to use the left rear leg. I ain't been too lucky with the results from praying.

Because He is God!!, He can't be bribed. All He wants from you is your faithfulness , your love, and you believing in Him. As far as what you pray for comes into question. We are to pray in God's will, not your own.
Lord Bless!

The word "bribe" implies that you are attempting to outsmart God, something that could never be done.

It's the churches way of bribing US to do good, thinking we'll get something in return...

You can't "sweet-talk" your way out of your sin. Can't put blinders over GOD's eyes either. If you're offering him "praises", is it to sincerely praise him, or are you doing it for money? See? You can't fool God, only yourself.
