Islam actually means peace. "Salaam wa Alaikum", the Islamic greeting, means "peace be with you". Why all the anger?

Allow me to correct your statement 'Islam actually means peace'.

Islam comes from the word: istislaam. which is the arabic for: submitting/giving up/retreating to

Therefore Islaam does not mean peace but rather a word God used to express the mental state of the people who believe in Him: total submission.

By this fact: even Buddhism can be Islamic as it puts emphasis on letting go to God.

Note: there were 124000 messengers of Gods divine religion according to a report by the prophet Muhammad.

Some of these could have started out what we know as spiritual paths before Muhammads arrival.

however all could have lost meaning by the arrival of the last message. we should still read up and learn and fortify our faith in God and His messengers.

I'm not angry sometimes it makes me angry that the truth existed years before Muhammad and he denied the truth and called it corrupt and the followers of this religion insult other religions and become offended when someone attempts to tell them the truth. The prophets that they claim are prophets of God and they use the names and deny the teachings. If the word of God became corrupt then the teachings of Islam would surely also be corrupt as the teachings are taken from the word of God. They claim Abraham and the only way anyone would have any idea who /Abraham was is from the original word of God. yet they deny the teachings of the prophets and use there names to give credibility to there religion.

It's essentially an angry Western world lookin' for someone to bully around. Islamic men just happened to be the ones to perpetrate 9/11--hence the attack is made on Muslims.

I'm not a Muslim myself but while I was lookin' on what beliefs to choose (ended up w/ interfaith focusing on Buddhism but actually using the Islamic format & consistency of prayer!) i would do the kind of thing that Discovery Channel does w/ 'Dirty Jobs' & 'Going Tribal'. I would live just like a Muslim, & from my experience living under Islamic rules & in accordance Islamic precepts, I must say that it is definitely ignorance & greed for power.

The Qur'an only sponsors a jihad when a threat (be it a military, financial or economical one) by infidels is made (hence Iraq should be a place for holy war) & can also be called upon enemies of Islam (such as poverty & discrimination) but extending jihad beyond self-proclaimed enemies is unwarranted & people just don't understand & are unwilling to discover the Islamic way of life. Only by thrusting a Westerner into an Islamic country (& ensuring that Muslim residents treat that Westerner as they would a fellow Muslim & shake off their own prejudices) do I think you could possibly teach them the true meaning of Islam.

Because not everybody is intelligent, unfortunately. They just hear this and that from people who are themselves ignorant and form their belief on islam (or other religions) on lies and rumours.

Intelligent people check whether what they are told is true or not. How come they easily search for porn websites on internet and they cannot search for a muslim website to learn about the topic before argumenting. Lazy stupid people are so many in this section.

Just for the Record, I have read the Koran to understand the ideaology of Islam, and I consider it to be as false as Judaism and Christianity.

Hi! I agree with you. I'm Catholic and we get the same thing. So many people think they know what we believe in but they never ask a devout, studied, Catholic. They think we worship statues (we don't), put Mary as a God (we don't), that we believe works get us to heaven (we don't), that the rosary is a prayer to Mary(it's to Jesus) that we are cannibles because we eat the body and blood of Christ(we believe it is a miracle that God does to change his being and spiritually inserts it in the bread) etc.etc--it really hurts us Catholics as all the terrible things said about Islam must hurt you. It's because we both don't think of our beliefs as a religion, our religious beliefs are our Lives! Good Luck to you and Praise God--Allah!

I have read the Qoran. I have looked into many religions and finally didn't choose a religion but a relationship with God. It seems to me that even if you make a comment without being nasty people get upset anyway. Look at Jesus they crucified him for his comments.

No matter what religion you are your going to get bad comments on here and thumbs down and good comments and thumbs up. Religion is a very controversial thing to people. Don't take it to heart. Just know that by your question, you got them thinking.

Most youngsters are too naive and so sold on others opinions that they can't think for themselves , their minds closed to new/different ideas and too afraid to be shunned from the pack when they find-out they "converted" to Islam - when THEY have no clue what it is - other than the ideas given to them from the news media !!!
