I asked this yesterday, but there were some technical problems. I only received 4 answers.

It may seem very simple, but I feel your answer will reveal much, especially when you consider who Jesus often ate with.

Please note: This question is addressed to Christians.

I am currently staying at a local women's shelter due to family abuse and it is getting close to my departure date. Since I don't have an adequate income my only option is to stay with my boyfriend. I am looking foreward to this, but I am also worried because I am a christian, premarital sex is a sin. It is hard for me to because I've had premarital sex in the past repeadedly and each time I've asked God to forgive me, but the more I repeated my sin, the more unforgiven I felt. My boyfriend is used to having sex either every day or every other day. He told me that he'll be okay with having sex maybe once every two weeks. From what I can tell, he seems like he cares enough about me to accept my beliefs. When I brought up the topic of going to church, he said he'll go if I go. How should I address this issue without disappoinging him.

I hear a lot about Christians praying to the Father or the Son. What about the Holy Spirit? Aren't they all supposed to be the same?

After all, religion is often based on having faith in something that doesn't have evidence to back it up. What makes so many people so convinced that they're right and that everyone else is wrong?

What is the reason for muslim women wearing veils and men not? I think, cos I'm western, I've got a skewed view of muslim religion and I want to correct any misconceptions I may have. But the reason I have been led to believe is that women are seen as unclean and a lesser form of person than a man, and that's why they need to cover themselves? Am I right about this, or is there a more woman friendly explanation?

But then I flipped to this part in Leviticus chapter 11 verses 9-12 and it says that eating shrimp is wrong.

Is eating shrimp as bad as killing someone?

I am seeing this phrase more and more. Are we as Christians using this to justify telling people what their particular sin (or what we conceive as) is. I don't remember in the Gospel anywhere that Jesus sat and counted each and every sin, just that he said go and sin no more.

We should be careful not to be judgemental in our acceptence.

It has never been our place to judge anyone's degree of sin.

Am I looking at this from a wrong standpoint?

After taking a basic course of 7 lessions refered in www.brahmakumaris.com, I am convinced that we all souls are the spiritual children of one Supreme soul who is called "Shiva", God, Allah,Waheguru and is also known with many names. This teaching creats Universal brotherhood which is very much needed. Why people dont feel like that?

This is in the style of a Geometric proof, not scientific proof.

Assumed: God created humans

God gave us a brain. Therefore he must want us to use it.
Revelation is beyond Reasoning (As stated by most religions).

Conclusion: Revelations (At least those that supposedly go "beyond Reasoning") are not from God.

Deism is "the beleif in God based on Reason rather than revelation." Therefore, here is the proof of Deism.

I received an email from someone who informed me that I was backsliding because I am asking Muslims about their religion, and that they will pray for my soul.
They also said that they don't think I am Christian because I actually like some of the people on here who are not Christian and those athiests.

My question is this: Do you think it's attitudes like the one in the email I got that cause some of the anger toward Christians?

I just figured heh there is no evidence for this god thing so why should I believe it. Someone told me there are green monsters on Mars but I don't believe that. Am I an idiot for wanting proof of something before I believe it?

I guess that guy needs the finger of friendship.

Many (if not most) non-Catholic Christian (protestant) pastors teach that the book of Revelation is a "time-line" that shows where we are going. Since the tribulation begins in Chapter 6 or 7 they say we are somewhere between Chapter 4 and 5

Consider Chapter 12 verses 7-9:

And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Since this is after Chap 7, are they saying that the Devil (Satan) is in Heaven right now???

Can someone who teaches this or follows a pastor who teaches this please comment on this.

(BTW, for those of you who are going to spew your hatred toward Catholic Christians or toward the Catholic Church. May God Bless you!!)

Is it more important to you to ensure that the gay and lesbian community knows that their lifestyle might be sinful or to actually make them feel comfortable enough to come to church and possibly find God?

To me, it seems more important that they have a relationship with God. We don't make our public opinion of adultery, pre-marital sex, or other living arrangements as public. Why do we put out the vibe that we are so disapproving of this other particular sexual deviation?

Please Note: I'm not arguing that homosexuality isn't a sin. I'm also not trying to excuse any type of sin. I'm merely trying to point out that a relationship with God is the goal. Sometimes achieving that goal leads to much greater blessings.

Also, If you're not a Christian, please remember, I'm not expecting or wanting a response. I don't need to hear that you're not a Christian. You'd be wasting your time and mine.
