They can do what they want and wear what they want... in an Islamic Country but the last time I checked this was NOT an Islamic country and Muslims should dress the same as the rest of us. If they don't like it then I for one won't shed any tears if they leave.

I wonder if British Airways would dare trying to tell one of their workers to remove a veil or turban the way they are trying to get that woman to take off her crucifix.

When I can walk safely down a street in Mecca wearing a crucifix and carrying a bible I will agree with Muslims wearing veils in MY country

I don't have a problem with Muslims or how they dress. I find super low-rise jeans more offensive then any ethnic clothes I've ever seen!! I admit that I don't know much about the Muslim religion but I don't have a preconceived notion that there is anything wrong with it either.

Speaking as a UC citizen: The United States is a melting pot....I think it is safe to say that at one time, everyone's ancestors, with exception to Native Americans, was an immigrant to this country (whether by force or willingly is not the point).

Additionally, the US prides itself on being the land of opportunity and a land of freedom. I don't know if you actually know a Muslim person but whether you do or not, you don't know the circumstances that brough a Muslim, or any other nationality, to this country...maybe they were persecuted in their own country or want to enjoy the freedoms you as an American (or British) enjoy. And maybe that person is on their way to becoming an American (or British) citizen. It is unfair and illogical to judge someone without getting to know them or understanding their situation.

Ask yourself honestly if you do anything to deserve to be looked at like you are a piece of s--t...are you friendly to the Muslim person (or ANY person that you claim treats you badly) or treat them differently? If you aren't being respectful to them, then why should YOU be treated any differently?

If you are speaking about the United States as your country then you are an ignorant bigot. Women and men in this country have the right to chose their own religion. Why would you want to take that away from anyone? How does they way they dress affect your life?

I don't agree. I believe they should wear what they believe in. When u understand the meaning behind it you would understand the reason for it, and its a very good reason, It's about respect and being a leader, not a follower like they do here in america.. You would learn alot by being open minded and respectful not being ignorant to other's belief. I respect your belief on that. That's your view, but don't knock . Maybe they look at u the way they do, b/c they see right through u, and they know where ur mind is... they are very smart people.... very down to earth.. u would see that if u tried to get to know one who is..

Wow, your name fits... but too bad your opinion is so ignorant. Dressing modestly is not at all offensive. Showing your thong and butt crack IS. Why do you hate people who are different than you? I sincerely doubt they "look at you in your own country like you are a piece of s**t." Muslims are modest and kind people. Yes, a few do cause poblems, but there are radicals in ever religion. You need to exercise tolerance and acceptance in this world, or you will forever be miserable. But, I suspect you like it that way...

Freedom is used very much in the United States and so is tolerance. Have you ever been to New York and Time Square? There's this man there all the time who is playing a guitar and wearing only a red underwear. no one moves to arrest HIM and no one really cares. Same with muslim garb.

You're right. If I walked into a bank with a veil on, would they mistake me as a thief and call the police? I don't really mind that they wear them, but when I shop at a store and they are under cover I don't feel comfortable. If they are in the bank, I'm wondering if they have a bomb under there. I am not prejudice towards Muslims, but they disregard what is important to us, why should they be made welcome if the can't conform to our society? Are our Christians allowed to walk freely from where they come from? No. Most times they are beheaded. And not only Christians, but all religions are persecuted.

I think that people should have the right to wear whatever they want. Isn't America supposed to be a free country??

To each his own. If that's what they want to wear who cares. I don't think guys should be able to wear pants that hang off there *** because they are ten times to big but they do.
