Since Prayers never get answered, and there is no emprical data to suggest the existence of anything even reomotely godlike, doesn't it stand to reason that beleiving in god is just willfull self delusion?

That all sins are forgiven through believing in Jesus Christ, that he died on the cross- for our sins, then rose again 3 days later...and that you will be saved when you confess your sins to him- and follow him? That the Bible is the Word of God and that every scripture is God breathed ( 2 Timothy ) Did you also know that the ONLY sin that will NOT be forgiven- is the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit? That means- those that reject Christ, and continue to live in sin against God.... Matthew 12:32
"And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come."
--This means that men can be forgiven when they put their Trust IN Christ, when asking for forgiveness they will be redeemed.- but those who reject him in this life will NOT be forgiven. It will be too late after they die- for everyone will be stand before God and have to give an account to Him.

A friend and I were having this discussion, and we both came to the conclusion that non-Christians do not belongin church. A church, as Jesus described it is any 2 or more Christians gathered in his name, so why would a non-Christian take part in a church? Don't get me wrong, if a person gets saved as a result of going there, it's always a good thing. But do non beleivers belong in a church? What are your thoughts?

I dont think so. we do more of hating the sinner than the sin by far. The sin is prevalent, and the media focuses on the sinner. when you see a child molester on tv, do you hate him or love him?

If you were offered all the knowledge of the world including the knowledge of whether god exists or not and other such religious/agnostic dilemmas would you take it or would you deny it and choose to believe whatever you choose to believe?

Forgive the Matrix style analogy, it just seemed to fit.

I know the truth is out there, I dont know what that may be. Im pretty sure none of us have it right. Can we not squelch our beliefs for 30 minutes and try to find a viable truth?
