I would be nice if you thought for yourself. If you were decent and a true Christian, you would realize how wrong it was to discriminate.

This is something Muslims (and many other people) dont realise: there is no such thing as a "Christian" country. Britain and America are secular countries and even though most people call themselves Christians still it has no impact on their lives. The bible makes it clear that marriage is between a man and a woman. Whilst Gay marriage was never an issue in the Bible- it makes it clear that homosexuality is wrong.
but don't take my word for it, read the bible, apparently the qu'ran recommends somewhere to do so

Probably no, but where does it say that a union between two people is only valid if they are of the opposite sex to each other?
And for all you bigots citing the Old Testament - try and remember that the New Testament is the word of god by which you shall all lead your lives! The OT is full of nasty violence and death until so and so, stonings and killings!
The more important point here is the rubbish assertion that the so call word of god must therefore be law! The law of the land is made by man, not a esoterical being that probably does not exist.
And, me being a slight pedant here - there is NO marriage between same sex couples in the UK - it is a civil partnership which is designed to recognise and give legal status to such a relationship for, but not only, the purposes of inheritance, property and other civil and legal contracts.
Assuming you are neither gay nor lesbian, what exactly is the point of your question, as the recognition and civil status of such relationships are not going to impact on your life and your relationships.
As to the bigots who posted their rather incoherant rantings and ravings, I suggest you go read your bibles (which you are so happy to cite selective verses from) and take head of this
MATTHEW 7:1
Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again
And no, I am not a Christian, although I can debate the bible and its contents til the proverbial cows come home (was raised a supposedly good Catholic boy, so it is drummed into my mind).
Christianity is about compassion and love, it is about treating your fellow man (or woman) in the manner you would like to be treated - it is NOT about judging people, it is not about condeming others.

This has nothing to do with the Bible. The Bible says that relations between same sex people are a sin. All Christian Churches condemn homosexuality. But not all westerners are Christians, I would say that the majority are not. Maybe they have been baptized, but they're not Christians. In western Countries law is pretty much independent from religion, that's why these kind of relationships are approved.

No the bible teaches that God created man and woman to be together and become one. God loves everyone but does not make them that way. The UK is a country that preaches tolerance (usually a good thing) but the church doesn't always stand up for god's word, in fact some churches openly promote these unions. My own church would never turn anyone away but we don't teach anything other than god's word.

Well, the bible wasn't a fax from heaven. People actually wrote it. I'm an atheist myself, but I think that if there was a god, he, she, or it would accept the preferences of some people because they should be respectful towards everyone anyways. Don't all religions preach tolerance? And besides, what's the harm in it? It's not like they contribute to the population problem...

What the Bible says is that man shall not lay with a man as he lay with a woman. If you think about it the idea is really kind of open. Of course it's not possible to have the same relationship when you're dealing same sex vs mixed sexes. But Jesus said that in heaven there will be no reason for marriage. Maybe the issue isn't who you love but how you love them.
How long has marriage been a system of bondage (child brides, and gold diggers) for one or both individuals in the relationship? Meaning there are plenty of marriages not created for Godly reasons. I say the system needs a complete overhaul. And let's start with the til death do us part. How about the idea of prefabricated vows or enforced church weddings. It seems to me that marriage and weddings are more for social acceptance than for the love it claims to support.
Viva la individual!!!

Christians do not condemn a person only their sins are condemned and then only by God. Gays have rights as human beings to equality. This is a basic christian principle.
Jesus s teachings were first and foremost for us to treat everyone as human beings.
This is why we allow Mosque building and all religions to be practised with out hindrance in the UK and why we have laws protecting people from all walks of life from oppression and prejudice.

I may not have the answer you are looking for. I can only say the world if full of the devil.
It says in Ephesians 5: 22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. Bible version is The New King James

the sanctity of marriage in the bible is described as the union of a man and a woman. that they shall cleave together to become one flesh. so nowhere in the bible is it found that gay marriage is sanctified by god. in fact the act of homosexuality (not the people) is condemned by god. god is not the destroyer of man but the destroyer of sin if people cling to sin in such a way he has no choice but to destroy the person withholding the sin. it is a painfull act for god to do to his creation which he loves so much
