A true Christain is someone that follows the teaching of Jesus Christ. Mostly it's about that and being a decent person. Needless to say, not everyone gets it, even the so-called Christians.

Every Christian will have a different answer. There are a lot of sects and individual beliefs. There is no right answer. What is a Christian to you?

Being a Christian is all about following the teachings of Jesus. Love thy neighbor and thine enemy, do unto others as you would have done to you. clean out your own yard before you pick on the pink flamingoes in your next door neighbors yard. Love and Obey God. Accept Jesus as your savior. And pray to God in honesty and belief that your prayers will be met in Jesus' name.

To me personally being a Christian is about following the teachings of Christ and being kind and treating all my fellow human beings as brothers/sisters regardless how different they are from me....
It doesn't matter to me if you are a Christian,Muslim,Hindu,Buddhist,or an Atheist...
I don't care if you are White,Black,Yellow,Red or Purple....
I believe that God has his own set of rules on how we should worship him but the set of rules that Christ gave us is how to treat each other.
I do believe that Christ died for our sins on the cross but I don't believe constantly sinning and repenting in the name of Jesus is right...after forgiving someone he said "Go forth and sin no more."
I am not a perfect Christian...I don't believe anyone can be perfect..but I do try to "do unto others".
I do have somewhat of a hatred in my heart for people who kill and hurt others and I know that's not right but all I can do is try and have faith in my God and my fellow man....
I personally don't believe I will go to hell for having a couple of beers with my friend or listening to rock music or whatever the fire and brimstoners preach...I do believe you are in jeopardy if you have $2 in your pocket and someone asks you for $1 to buy a burger because they are hungry and you don't do anything.
I believe we were put on this wonderful world to enjoy it and take care of each other.
sorry if I'm rambling but I guess the answer to your question for me is trying your best to understand the teachings of Christ and to care about and cherish the lives of others as you do your own.

Believing in Jesus and accepting Him as your savior. If you say a prayer saying that you repent your sins and that you accept Jesus into your heart as your savior, you will be saved and become a Christian. Good luck and God bless!

Without getting religious.. it means to have joy in knowing that you are free from the condemnation of sin. it is a joy and a freedom that all the mess from your past is covered and you have the certian hope of going to Heaven after you die.
This comes through a RELATIONSHIP with Jesus. not just a prayer that is said one day to accept Him and buy some "fire insurance"
