"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands." Psalm 19:1

This is one of my favourite verses, because everytime I see the magnitude of the stars, the brilliance of a sunset or the strength of a thunderstorm. I know that it was God who created it all.

It seems God has sent a few prophets with messages to show us the way. Has each message sporned each religion. surely Gods message and religion would be the same from the begining. So the only reason to keep sending a message is because the message failed. So God sends the same message again with another prophet and it got lost and then another prophet and they didnt understand it. and then another prophet and they didnt believe him, and then another prophet and they killed him, and God was very upset and made sure the next message would be clear and simple for everyone to understand and that this will be the last message and who ever gets it and follows it they will know the directions to the Kingdom of God. maybe something like that.

If there is a God, then miracles are possible. If there is a God who wants to get our attention, then miracles are also logical.

If you notice, the miracles in the Bible are done in service to someone: the Red Sea parted to allow the Israelites to cross on dry land, a blind person receiving sight, a storm calmed in order to increase the faith of the disciples, etc. God doesn't merely show off by doing miracles; rather, they are part of His compassionate service toward people. The signs He had recorded in Scripture also serve a teaching purpose of His -- water changed to wine, blind people seeing, feeding with bread, walking on water, etc.

Jesus insisted that the miracles He performed were meant to verify His words. And through His words, He was saying that He was God Himself.

We should not be surprised about the stupendous things we see in the Bible. With God, all things are possible. He is the Creator of all things, and can create from nothing. He can call into existence that which did not exist before. He can make it so that a 90-year-old barren woman gives birth, or a young virgin conceives and is with child. Nothing is too difficult for the eternal God.

"Is anything too difficult for the LORD?" (Genesis 18:14)
Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him. (Psalms 115:3)

"I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please." (Isaiah 46:10)

"With God all things are possible." (Matthew 19:26)

To come over to have a gathering to get to know each other. It turned out to be a "conversion" "ceremony". They were very friendly. At that point in my life I was doubting the existence of god. They told us that if we wanted to let jesus into out hearts we could stay, if not we could leave if we wanted. I wanted to stay for the hell of it to see what they were going to do. We gathered in a circle, and the man went from each person and "blessed" them, telling them to let the love of jesus into our hearts. He reached me, and is if I expected a magical spirit or something to swoop through me, nothing happened. I felt nothing. he asked me if I felt jesus, I just said yes, because I suddenly became afriad of these people. I went home almost immediately afterwards, I told my mom what happened. She got so angry about them and told me not to go around them anymore. Have you had an experience such as this? What do you think of Christians who invite people over to convert them?

Why did he obliterate Sodom and Gomorrah? The Bible says they were unrepentant sinners, but wasn't that their choice? Weren't they merely excersizing their free will? If we indeed have free will, then God wouldn't be punishing us for acting 'badly'. If we have to live under the threat of God's punishment, then we don't have free will at all. We simply behave because we fear punishment and retaliation. Could someone explain please?

People do all kinds of things in the name of God and Jesus that He did not mandate, request, sanction, command or will. People do what they want to do, then find ways to justify what they're doing.

God knows what He has told someone to do and what He hasn't, and in the end He will reveal what was done according to His will and what was done according to man's own will, desires, lusts, greed, malice.

People's actions cannot be used fairly as an excuse to reject God. God will not buy that one. God is good, perfect, just, merciful, loving and fair. If someone does something against His will but in His name, we cannot hold that against God. And in the end, He won't allow us to.

In the end, each person will be accountable to God and there will be no room for excuses or self-justification. Either we sought God and allowed Him to transform us, or we didn't.

God will judge every person with fairness, and will judge the intents and motives of each person's heart.

You've got Apostle's, Nicean, Athanasian creeds for basic doctrinal beliefs, but things start breaking down when you get to details. What's a baptismal form "all Christians" can accept as valid (and at what age?), from Amish to Baptist to Roman Catholic to Quaker? Or a version/translation of the Bible that can be used in all Christian churches? Proper way of celebrating Holy Communion (assuming it's settled whether it's a memorial feast or whether the body and blood of Jesus is indeed present). I'm wondering about this because of the number of churches that are trying to come into confessional fellowship with each other. (Would prefer answers that are a bit better formulated than "read verse suchandsuch," please; appeals to authority are not what's wanted. However, I welcome personal opinions of "I'd like to see X...because....and it combines elements from...", or similar thoughtful responses.)

If somethings can surprise Him, it means he did not know they would happen. If nothing surprises him, then he can never be pleased or angry with us, because he always knew they would happen.

Most of the answers I have recieved in this Answers programe when I posted christian questions, have been answered by people who seem to have a deep hatred towards God. Why are they looking in Religion Spirituality Questions? Are they perhaps really seeking God. If I hated God I would not be reading Christian or religious questions let alone answer them. Are you lot really seeking answers?

I asked this Q before. I received replies detailing personal lives (2 of which led to interesting ongoing correspondence) but other than 1 reply of hearsay nobody actually answered my Q so far.

I try again: Assuming Muslim Fs have normal sexual urges and there is comparable hypocrisy among them to that of Fundamentalist conservative Christian Fs how do Muslim Fs (other than Shi'ite divorcees and widows, who are allowed, even for money, to have "temporary" husbands) manage to have nonmarital/extramarital experience and what are the statistics? Is there just a lot of secret trysting (after all, the news is full of stories of honor killings, honor rapes, and sharia and civil prosecutions of Fs for their sexuality in Muslim countries and Muslim enclaves in non-Muslim countries)? So there must be activity. Is it scientifically measured? I have searched the internet and also checked for books at 2 university libraries but have found no real actual sociological data.

the Bible shows an understanding of medicine and science that pre-dates man's understanding of medicine and science, then we can only conclude that there is a Mind out there who is way ahead of us. Rather than try to explain Him away at every turn, the more insightful conclusion might be to acknowledge His great design and creativity. If He's there and He's real, we can't dethrone Him. He's in charge and nothing can change that. Scientific discoveries are merely observing, understanding and using systems that He has already designed. Theories attempting to discredit God's existence (like evolution from species to new species, as an attempt to explain life apart from God) are merely rabbit trails which lead to unanswered questions like, "why then don't fossil records show transitionary species?" Why not acknowledge our Creator? What God has told us in the Bible about Himself, our world and our purpose, is a great starting place to understanding this life.

Can anyone tell me what the Virgin Mary looks like? Seems to me that the Bible never mentioned what her physical features were or how she looked. Why is it people claim they've seen her when they don't know what she looks like? Who are these people really seeing?
