You are using the right words, religious, Dogma and you left out one big one, doctrine. See when one is truly faithful the they follow the teachings of Christ, but that comes at a cost. The cost is learning what Jesus did, what he taught and how he lived. Then making those things the model of how they are to live there lives.
See as a believer in Christ I have to look at his example, putting others before yourself, treating others in the manner in which you want to be treated yourself. Being selfless instead of selfish, having compassion for others (concerned passion, concerned love) That is the model that by faith I am suppose to follow. I don't need to preach that to anyone, just live it and my actions will speak louder than any words I could ever say. Which it truly more believable? Someone who is makes all kinds of claims to faith then lives like hell or someone who lives it and doesn't must say alot about it.
People who are religious are just play a game of religion, they use dogma to make it hard for others to be a part of their religion (not faith). They even rewrite what has are ready been written and they say that it is an act of being godly. They do it to make themselves equal to God or even as God. That is being religious, and the more doctrine them more equal to God they thing they are.
I profess a faith in Jesus and I try to live by it, I fall short but still I try. It is also an offense to me when I read where so-called Christians react in a unchristian way. They are truly unbelievable.

So which laws are speaking of? Lets play a game. Lets say we removed all Judeo/Christian influence from our legal system, what would we have? Well, murder would be legal, so would stealing, perjury as well. We would have anarchy since we would no longer be mandated to submit to our governing authorities. Basically, all laws in civilized society are based on the ten commandments and biblical laws. If you wish to do some research, look at the Jewish society from the giving of the law on, and compare them to the pagan societies, one is reasonably orderly and respectful of life, the other barbaric.

I know that in my lifetime I feel that some very important things were lost or broken in this society that I would like to recapture.
Like innocence, and decency and manners and being kind to one another and giving people space especially in traffic.
This has become an Ugly society and many of us believe that it's because we lost sight of our roots in Christianity. If you got a better way than you can promote it.
Can you imagine what a different place this would be if we were to get back the 30% of people under age 30 that have been aborted? We would have more workers, more consumers, more people in science and engineering improving our lives. More taxpayers. And don't say they would all be welfare people because the largest group that uses abortion are young white professionals.

Well now, this is quite a generalization!
I consider myself to be religious but that religion requires that I submit to a law higher than any here on earth. I could, for the most part, care less about what man tells me I should or should not do. Blind leading the blind is what it all amounts to.

You are not the only one to notice the "separation of church & state" as the next big farce uncovered...religious powers have ruled along side governing wonders always...whether they were the astrologers, wizards, witches, wisemen, popes...no matter...a ruler always needs "the advisor" to place the responsibilty of an erroneous decision...and so the advisor needs a devil to pass the buck to...

Don't make the classic mistake of assuming that ALL Christians want to turn their various countries into theocratic regimes. It's only a relatively tiny handful of religious zealots who would be arrogant enough to attempt maniuplating the legislative system to reflect their narrow beliefs. I'm a Christian myself, and I have absolutely no desire to pursue legislation that would discriminate against and/or oppress the non-Christian segment of the population in any way.

hahaha, quite a charming question! the way you delivered it didn't even offend me at all, even though I am christian.
there are many useless things on Yahoo Answers! and all one can do is wonder why they come back time to time....
Maybe there is another site that doesn't include things with religion that you can go answer questions on.
