If there is a God, then miracles are possible. If there is a God who wants to get our attention, then miracles are also logical.

If you notice, the miracles in the Bible are done in service to someone: the Red Sea parted to allow the Israelites to cross on dry land, a blind person receiving sight, a storm calmed in order to increase the faith of the disciples, etc. God doesn't merely show off by doing miracles; rather, they are part of His compassionate service toward people. The signs He had recorded in Scripture also serve a teaching purpose of His -- water changed to wine, blind people seeing, feeding with bread, walking on water, etc.

Jesus insisted that the miracles He performed were meant to verify His words. And through His words, He was saying that He was God Himself.

We should not be surprised about the stupendous things we see in the Bible. With God, all things are possible. He is the Creator of all things, and can create from nothing. He can call into existence that which did not exist before. He can make it so that a 90-year-old barren woman gives birth, or a young virgin conceives and is with child. Nothing is too difficult for the eternal God.

"Is anything too difficult for the LORD?" (Genesis 18:14)
Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him. (Psalms 115:3)

"I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please." (Isaiah 46:10)

"With God all things are possible." (Matthew 19:26)

Hmm. Intresting question.
Christians don't always have to believe in the bible, they just have to believe there was a christ, and believe that GOD is our creator/lover/homeboy/whatever, and they have to try to follow a good path.

But I do believe in some things in the bible. But I do think that the bible is a complex thing, that takes more than just reading it to understand it. It has alot of hidden subliminal messages, and can sometimes exaggerate some events that actually happened. I do believe in miricals, adn I do believe that christ performed them.

You have the right to believe whatever you want to, However I don't take the Bible literally, except the advice to treat others as we would like to be treated. No point in arguing with you about the origin of the texts you are citing, but the Bible was not "written by God." It is a history of various people, written by humans over thousands of years. Many things were added and subtracted to suit the purposes of those involved. I hope you are not involved in a church where you are permitting the pastor or priest to tell you what to believe. Theologies and ideologies, like politics, are all about power, control, and money. And the more the leaders can get people like you to believe in miracles and pie in the sky, the more money and power the leaders have. I hope in time you will learn to read between the lines, but as David Hannum ( not P.T. Barnum) said "there's a sucker born every minute."

Miracles have been told in all religions, but they are not convincing proofs for rational human beings. They need rational proofs and also the really decent living of the believers.
However, all these three things are not the evident truth. Miracles, rational arguments and even decent living don't fully attract sincere human hearts and make them new, strong and spiritual. Because many of those things can be fabricated, disguised, fictionalized by the fanatics, the lunatics and the cheaters!
The real proof in the Religion of God is His creative Word. Whether men ignore, reject or oppose it, the divine Word still triumphantly affects the world and makes it a better and better place of living for all mankind.

No, no miracles happened. You have to understand that the Bible has been translated many, many times. It started out as an oral tradition. Words change, the meaning changes and then the whole context changes. When there is translation from one language to another the meaning can change too and sometimes the whole idea changes. Words used in a certain era can change meaning eg: Gay used to mean happy, now it is used for a male homosexual.

The church of the middle ages changed a lot of the meanings to convert people and to keep them in line.

If the Bible didn't have any miracles in it or fantastic stories no one would follow it nor would there be any religion.

I believe that the "miracles" in the bible are kind of like fables, things to teach you a lesson. I'm not a christain either, but I do belive that I can learn things from a lot of the stories in the bible. When I was a small child I learned a lot about morals and right from wrong. And as an Adult I take from those storied about how to treeat others, I know that god doesn't want me to hurt people, so maybe I shouldnt cause thats mean. I have to keep things very simple, I can complicate a banana if I want to, I just think that as long as I believe in something, that wich does not harm me in any way, and loves me I'm in good shape. I'm a vey complicated girl... lessons in life is good enough for me!

I don't think the miracles in the bible are to be taken literally. In many of the cases, logic and medical fact can be used to explain them. It is possible that Jesus of Nazereth simply had amazing luck, however, the stories told in the bible weret documented for arround 200 years after the death of jesus. The story of how jesus was in the desert for 4o days and 4o nights and fought with the devil is an example. No matter how holy and special you are, you will die without water after about a max of 5 days. lets suppose they made the time spent in the desert was made longer then it actually was. if u have no food and water for a long enough period, you will hallucinate.
the bible should not be taken literally, it is a moral guide, not a work of absolute fact.
Could you write a story about the last battle of the American Civil war and keep all the facts exactly true, and not once exagerate the accomplishments of one particular man?

kind of. its a complicated question in that though through god all is indeed possible, but some of the miracles were in my opinion metaphors. like adam and eve, if that qualifies as a miracle, it was more of a metaphor for life and gods power than an actual testimonial to the creation of man. it depends on how literal ur view is.

I am a Christian, I believe in God, and I believe all the miracles of the Bible. Not to believe or to doubt would be a sign of weakness, or a sign of non-belief. Why, being a Christian would I not believe?

Thats like asking a person that just built a bridge if he would drive across it.

If you believe in the Bible, why then, are you not a Christian, or of some Religion.

Yes. Creation of the universe including this earth was, is and always will be a miracle. How else can one explain our existence that makes any sense at all?

Of course the miracles were performed so that we may know and understand God. Jesus was and is His surrogate for human kind. We share in the likeness of God and are to behave as Jesus did. God sent His son to allow us to have access to God directly.
