I want to know what views the jewish people hold on issues of justice, peace, prosperity, and security, and how well members of that community have historically and are now living out these positions.

16 to get a learners permit, 17 to get a license, 18 to buy cigarettes and lottery tickets, 18 to go to the army, 21 to buy alcoholic beverages. All these things have age restrictions. Why is it, then, that the church has no problem baptizing a feeble-minded 13, 14, or 15 year old kid, who could be doing it for the wrong reasons? No bible quotes please, just opinions.

Muslims believe that Islam will prevail all over the world. They proudly describe the rights given to humans by Islam 1400 years ago, which no other religion gave. The question is that why muslims are a minority in total population of the world, even after 1400 years? Muslims also say that 'Qiyamat' is very near and cite signs of 'Qiyamat'.

When will it be that Islam prevail in the world, especially keeping in view the socio-economic conditions of the muslims and that 'Qiyamat' is due?

Since the ID people feel that the world is too complicated to have formed through natural processes, is God continually 'designing' things? Does He oversee every cell in every living thing everytime it replicates itself? Each cell is an extremely complicated 'machine'. Is He 'making' new life everytime a new bacteria is 'born'? Creationists believe that such structures are too complicated to not be designed...
...Or is it more reasonable to consider that these things are happening because of natural processes? Hmmm...

Someone here said that it could have been a possibility that Eden was in Africa, and I think it's true because of the variety of flora and fauna that Africa used to have. It would have been the perfect place for an Eden.

Gen 2:8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward, in Eden; and there He put the man whom He had formed.
Gen 2:9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Gen 2:10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became four heads.

If Mohammid got all of his "information" from an angel, then why did that angel make the same mistakes found in the Bible? Could that angel be Satan, the angel of light?

There are times when you may assume something becuase of some statistic but be wrong but that is different becuse you didn't get every detail. So if you knew every thing and detail about one subject, can you possibly be wrong?

What about the Bible. If it is illogical, does it make it wrong?

My bf told me that when he was 17 he became an atheist....and i asked him why he did that? he told me it was because he grew up going to private christian schools and in church and all that and He said it was because of his mom trying to force him to go to church every sunday. so i asked him were you Really an atheist? and he said no, it was just like a rebellious thing. and then i said, cuz if you really Were an atheist, we wouldnt have much in common. and he said, yah we would, we both like spaghetti. and i said, are you trying to make fun of the 'Flying Spaghetti Monster'? And he said 'What?!' and i said, atheists worship a flying spaghetti monster. and he said WoW.

I should post a question too i guess. Why did you become an atheist?

It has been stated that those of us who believe the universe was created by a flying spaghetti monster are making fun of those who believe in Jesus.

What arrogance to believe your religion is being mocked by someone else's belief.

Your thoughts on this

I am starting to question my beliefs and what Ive been taught all my life - I was raised in a Christian home and was taught all the Christian beliefs and values but now Im starting to wonder if the way I worship is the right way!! I still believe that God is the one and only true god and that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for the sins of the world and bring Salvation as a free gift of grace to those who chose to accept it but I wonder if sitting in a sanctuary with a bunch of hypocritical stuck up elderly people listening to an old hypocritical preacher is the way to go!! I dont feel the same way about God and Jesus and all that as everyone I hear does!! I dont know if its really for me!! But I cant just desert everything Ive been taught all at once!! And the Celtic "religion" appeals to me a little but I would like to learn more about what the old Celts believed and how or what they worshipped!!
