I don't really notice a difference most times. Although it allows me to see all the inherent faults in religion a lot easier and I am a lot more open to things I don't understand. But really I'm not sure what I was before atheist, Christian, Catholic, protestant, I was just raised so that I always heard about God and all the stuff he did and I'd even try praying when I was really distraught. But that's how religion gets you, promises consolation in times of weakness. But one day I was listening to a Bad Religion song (ironically my favorite band even when I believed in God) and I realized I just never really believed it. I had been told by the world to believe it, I'd seen smart people and people I knew believe it (my uncle is a pastor) so I'd just kind of fallen in line. I just kind of realized that no god had ever done anything for me, I could logically explain everything in my life completely Godlessly. So I fell out of what was already empty habit and became atheist. Now I've come to see that anything without evidence is bullcrap 98% of the time and don't see why religion (man made at its earliest roots) should be any different.

Some people may choose the identity of atheism; others question and question and ponder and ponder and go through anguish as we wrestle with the stuff we've been taught and come up with the realization that there are a great deal of holes in it all. However, I do keep an open mind and I did have a real spiritual experience; thus, I don't know what the frig I am.

I feel depressed not having the rose-colored glasses on any more. It was better knowing that we had a chance to see our dead loved ones or that someone was looking over us. But with objective reality, all that is thrown to the wayside and life has taken on a whole new meaning, albeit, a depressed one.

I was once an agnostic, as a child. Now I have discovered grand truth, and am a better person for it. I also now appreciate the lunacy of religion a great deal more.

It felt uncomfortable at first. with the "holy spirit" leaving me (AKA Brain Washing)

Now it is just a relief. I felt it for quite a while, just never explored it. I just can not believe without evidence that which is told by those without knowledge about things without parallel
