God created us because:
Sin was around before humans came along, angels sinned, Jesus was sent down as a human to "Get rid of sin" to put it in simple terms, but im sure your question is...Why didnt God just get rid of sins with the angels? Jesus states in the bible that angels cant be destroyed, so it would be pointles for God to send Jesus as an angel to die for angels cause angels cant die, so that wont work..
So...God created a whole new race, a race that could live, die, and bleed, this is where God could send Jesus, to die for us, because we can die...
Sin is very important...without it, we wouldnt know God, there is no biblical evidence that Adam and Eve Worshipped God before sin was introduced to earth. So with sin, we then know God, you have to have an opposite to have something...Like, Healthy and Sick, If you could never get sick, then you wouldnt know that you were healthy cause there is no opposite...Get it? So with Sin and God....If there was no sin, why praise God? No worries right? So with sin, we know there is an opposite, which is God, this is why we Worship God

First question: What made Him do it?
Answer: No one or nothing made Him do it. The Lord is eternal and we are eternal. There was never a time when we did not exist and there will never be a time when we won't exist. This implies that we are spiritual by nature, not material, not these temporary bodies. So He didn't "create" us -- we are eternal. He did create a material world and material bodies for us to inhabit to have a place to act out our selfish desires as if we are free from any subordination to the Lord. The material world is actually a prison house meant to rectify our rebellious nature.
Second question: Was He bored?
Answer: No way. We have a tendency to think very provincially and believe everything in the universe revolves around our little human world. The fact is that this material world is only one quarter of the whole kingdom of God. The other three quarters constitute the spiritual world, where there is no birth, death, disease, old age, suffering, etc. There the Lord lives in full opulence and bliss with His eternal associates enjoying endless pastimes of pleasure. Far from being boring, by nature spiritual enjoyment is ever-fresh and ever increasingly joyful. Whatever pleasure, love, joy, etc. that we experience has its origin in the Absolute Truth, the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
Question three: How is an incorrect choice possible?
Answer: To be in the same image as the Lord means we are qualitatively equal to the Lord. As the Lord is spirit we are also spirit. Just as a drop of sea water is the same quality as the whole ocean, similarly each individual living being is equally spiritual as the Lord. But of course there is a vast difference in quantity. He is the Supreme we are minute. And because we are so small, we can fall into illusion (Maya) and misuse our free will. The Lord has infinite freedom and independence to do anything He likes. We also have some freedom, some free will-- a proportionately small amount-- and if we misuse it, we have to accept the consequences. The consequence for choosing to try and be independent of the Lord is that we are put into the material world, encaged in a material body, and have to suffer the miseries of material life. But because the Lord is all-merciful, we can reunite with the Lord again by re-establishing our devotional service to Him. This begins by purifying ourselves of any desire for material enjoyment. The prime method for doing that in this age of hypocrisy and quarrel (Kali-yuga) is chanting the holy names of the Lord such as the holy names of Krsna and Rama: Hare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama. Rama Rama Hare Hare. The name of the Lord is equal in potency to the Lord Himself and anyone who sincerely hears and chants His holy name gradually cleanses all desire for material enjoyment from the consciousness and begins to re-establish his devotional life of bliss and knowledge in the service of the Lord.

The common conception of God is that He is and always was infinite. We as mere humans can only imagine what infinite means, but can only imagine. What did God do with his time before He decided to create The Universe? The only way of knowing is by asking Him after you die, unfortunately.
Mankind was MADE in his image, but re-evolved into a race of sinners after the concept of society was introduced. Consider Adam and Eve. Adam was the ONLY person on Earth before Eve came along (supposedly), and was right as rain. God puts another human on the planet to keep Adam company, who then sins and convert him too into a sinner. That's the price we and God paid for free will. We pay because we have the choice to not believe in God and have the possibility of burning in Hell, and God pays because He doesn't like seeing his children burn, but He also wants them to have minds as well.

He made us to love us. To have relationships with Him. Incorrect choices are possible because we're corrupted images of God. We have free will because He has free will.

First of all we are not of His image, He is like none, nothing.
Second, Allah has created us for two reasons, first, to worship Him and second to go in thios life and live in peace and to do good deeds so that we may go to the Heaven. This means that He created us for our good not His as He can go without any of his creatures.

we were "perfect" and "innocent" until SIN entered the world> after sin, humans broke direct communication w/ God, thus now we communicate through prayer and in the past through prophets> Sin caused suffering, death, destruction, etc. to enter into God's once perfect creation. Our Pride causes sin and suffering>

Ok where to start... I guess he just felt like it for one. We cant know what he is really thinking. He made us in him image, yes, but think of this- our shadow is in our image, yet it never looks exactly like us. It is distorted by the time of day and where we are standing. Same thing applies to God and us. He made us in his image, but we are not exatly like him.
