I am just curious. I had asked about the Malleus Maleficarum last night and it seemed that no one had read it. Christians I would think would want to read that text as it is the manual for witch hunting used by the Inquisition. I suppose I could ask the same of the Atheist, but any religious text is different than theirs.

I'm not opposed to ALL war, was in fact for the Iraq war in the beginning because I felt Saddam had WMD, if not he was pursueing it. I felt like we messed up things there and tried to fix it by standing up an Iraq military and police force.

1. Do you feel based on your research that we have done a good job of standing up the Iraq military and police force?

2. Do you feel that now is the time to return all/majority of American troops home?

3. Do you desire a new American foreign policy, and what steps have you taken to ensure this, if only to prepare to vote in 2006?

Thanks

After many years of thought and input, I have decided that I do not believe in "God". Jesus may have lived and done wonderful things, but I do not believe he "saved" everyone. I asked a question a few days ago referring to God's name. I got a lot of answers. Some referred to other religions. I believe that all religions are actuall the same but that with various interpretations they have seperated. If you believe anything strongly enough you can make it "real". I have nothing against those who have "religion". It is good to believe in something. Praying to something, trusting in something, and being with people who have the same thoughts is good for humans. However, having said that, just because you believe in something strongly, it doesn't make it real. I believe in myself and my abilities. I will not save the human race, but I will be a good person and treat others fairly and with respect. Does anyone else feel this way? I finally feel free of guilt over not believing.

Our culture is superior. Our culture is superior because our religion is Christianity and that is the truth that makes men free.

Pat has the same pipeline to JC that the other good ministers have...did he get inside info?

"No, I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God."

--George Herbert Walker Bush, Former U. S. President, 1988.

Does his son believe this too? Maybe all the good Atheists Americans should move to Canada where they will be welcome?

My friend has recently denounced his Christian faith and is now a Wiccan. I'm curious about his new lifestyle, and he invited me to a thing that Wiccans do on the full moon. It's tomorrow. He won't tell me what it is, because he wants me to experience it without any biases . . . or something. Any Wiccans here? What happens on the full moon?

There has been from some not all Christians a question about the comparrison of slavery in the Old Testement with the institution of slavery in America before 1865. These some not all Christians are saying that the system of slavery set up in the Bible is different from the one that we had in America.

So a few questions, 1. Are they trying to defend "slavery". If the word in the English Bible shouldn't be slavery, maybe we need a 2006 version with a better word.
2. Is the historical context surronding homosexuality one that isn't the same in 2006? Were they talking at that time about the same issue as it is today?
3. If the slavery that they were talking about in that day is different from the one in a recent America, is it reasonable to assume that possibly the other words in the Bible might need to be viewed in their historical context?
Thanks for reading

"Just like what Nazi Germany did to the Jews, so liberal America is now doing to the evangelical Christians. It's no different. It is the same thing. It is happening all over again. It is the Democratic Congress, the liberal-based media and the homosexuals who want to destroy the Christians. Wholesale abuse and discrimination and the worst bigotry directed toward any group in America today. More terrible than anything suffered by any minority in history."

Pat seems to get a lot of messages from above....did he get a message from JC to pass on to his masses?

I notice this a lot, especially on the religion board. Someone asks a question like, 'Atheists: Why don't you believe in God?"--a perfectly legitimate, open-ended question. However, it usually boils down to the asker picking someone who agrees with them. "They're all going to Hell!" or the like.
If you're going to ask a question like that, wouldn't it make sense to pick an answer that...you know...answers the question? You may not like what they think, but if you get the information you want, doesn't that take precedent(did I use that word right?)?

The feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is about a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism, and become lesbians.

-- Pat Robertson

That Patty...he speaks such truth! I mean how many feminists have you seen kill their children, leave their husband and become lesbians? 87 or 88?

It's interesting to see quite a lot of theists on here foaming at the mouth about homosexuals and promising them everlasting torture, and I was just wondering how they achieve this special suspension of conscience in order to be so hateful. Is it years of indoctrination from their religious cults, or bad family upbringing, or what? Whatever it is, how can we help them?

Heres a prediction....

The Earth is degenerating these days. Bribery and corruption abound. Children no longer mind their parents, every man wants to write a book, and it is evident that the end of the world is fast approaching.

Doesn't the bible say that we should not worship any graven image. Isn't it a graven image of Jesus staked to the crucifix? Wouldn't that mean every christian has broken one of the ten commandments, sinned, and is going to hell?
