It has been stated that if the Atheist is right and the theist is wrong that the theist will have spend an entire lifetime of believing and that this won't hurt anyone.

I totally believe in the first amendment which guarentees the right of Americans to believe and worship. I would never want to remove any church or burn any Bible, to do so would be wrong.

But in the interest of building a database of questions and answers, I was wondering if there could be some answers to the following question.

Are there any ill effects that society suffer from people's believe in God? Are there some actions that believers in God take which might cause an ill effect on the entire population of America and the world?

I think there are a lot of intelligent people who could articulate the harms to society if there are any from the actions of believers better than I can. So are there any harms to society from believers actions?

Jesus sits at the right hand of God right.... which would make it a little inconvenient to use his right hand because Jesus would be so close... So he must use his left for writing, eating, mastur--------...

Why did he destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, kill the Egyptians (babies killed), etc. And how does god come off as being all loving if he throws you in hell for not doing as he says? My parents love me, and I was never burned or tortured, at most I was put in my room. Are my parents more all loving than god? My parents punished me so I would learn a lesson. How can you learn a lesson if you are punished for ever? Does god let you out of hell when you can behave? Or is he just a nasty torturer, who burns you for defying him? Not a guy I would worship. If he loves you would he burn you?

I asked a similar question before but it seems that people who answered it did not get what I mean.

My question is about the punishment for people who commit adultery. In one verse in the Quran (Nisa'a 4:15) the punishment is HOUSE IMPRISONMENT, while in another verse (Al Nour 24:2) the punishment is LASHING. Is there any contradiction between the two verses?

Also, prophet Muhammed used to punish people who commit adultery by STONING TO DEATH. Is this also in contradiction to what the Quran said (in either of the two verses)?

I always thought that Jesus was God's only son and that God sacrificed Jesus to save the sinners (per Christian teachings). Now, I've heard someone argue that Jesus and God are one, and that God died for our sins.

What do you think?

Were there TWO SABBATH days IN THE SAME week JESUS
got crucified?I.e the Yearly Passover Sabbath (which we know
is a special one(Jn 19 :31The Jews therefore, because it was
the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the
cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an
high day,)) instituted in Exodus 12 )and the weekly Saturday
Passover of Gen. 1 and subsequently Exodus 20:1? For we
know that the Sabbath that occurred in the day which He died
was special therefore could have been NO OTHER THAN the ACTUAL
Passover of Exodus 12……Now, did he die on Tuesday
to resurrect on Saturday therefore ACTUALLY SPENDING
LITERAL 3 DAYS AND 3 NIGHTS IN THE NEITHER PLANES?
If not then, when did he die and how can we explain away his promise
of spending 3 days and nights in the grave?

A latter end "worse" (Mt 12:45)
O "foolish" Galatians (Gal 3:1).
Dog re-"turned" to vomit (2Pet 2:22)
Sow re-"turned" to mire (2Pet 2:22)

Our Father: deliver us from evil.
We are delivered from the law.

Law is good, but it is also evil(concupiscence).
Discern(avoid) both good + evil: Hebews 5:14.

Whatsoever is not of faith is sin: Rom 14:23
The law is not of faith: Gal 3:11

Law: is the mininstration of death (2Cor 3:7);
as strength of sin's death sting (1Cor 15:56)

Saved(graced) & destroyed(lawed) after,
is perhaps result of grace + law in Jude 5.

Grace is sufficient (perhaps means no law req'd).

Endure unto "the end" to be "saved"(only) by "grace"(only):
The grace(only) of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

If so, then I can understand why people believe many things that I find silly. It is like how I believe that the Texans have a chance to actually win this year, but that is just my emotional bias speaking. So god-speed fundies; believe what you want, and have a blessed day.

It is a modern Sodom and Gomorrah. Where is the brimstone? Did god run out? Why is there no killing of those people? Why does god do none of the stuff he did before that would have made us all believe? Is it because Jesus? What about the people of those cities, why did they not get the chance? What about all the other stuff he used to do, other than punish?

from aliens. Why do people think they can create their own religions? Humans have been around for so much longer to just start making up religions that are really out there. Is it true you have to pay to go to their church? Any Scientolist on here, I am interested in that religion, and wonder why you think that those theories are possible, or are you just a Tom Cruz fan?

So how can it be that in Sodom & Ghomorra, the guys there tried to rape them? I thought angels don't have sex organs... Also, if they tried to rape the angels, and angels don't have a gender (ambiguous), how can that be seen as homosexuality?

Based on the above question, I read that to mean I should believe in God becase,

1. God exists
2. If I don't believe God exists I will be spending eternity without God.

So my question to you, Atheists, is, if you don't believe in God, why would you care about spending eternity without him?

So to the people who do believe in God when you share with non-believers the benefit of an eternity with God, wouldn't it make sense to first show that there is a God?

1. Can you show that there is a God on yahoo answers?

2. In real life, are you able to produce empirical evidence of God?

I just see this cycle going back and forth and am wondering, in the interest of producing a database of questions and answers, if some of the theists could list the empircal evidence of God, that way, when an atheist is told they will spend eternity without God, it will actually mean something.

I never hear Muslims take a stand against terror. Since the Muslim name is so tarnished you would think they would speak out more and get out into society and prove their peace movements.Since they don't , that tells me they must secretly advocate this reign of terror-
Which truly should concern everyone.

Over the past few weeks I’ve been running a non-scientific poll with friends and coworkers. In my small sampling 65% of the people who identified themselves as Christians spanked their children. While <5% of non-Christians spanked their kids.

Were you raised in a Christian home? Did your parents use corporal punishment?

Are you a Christian? Will/Do you use spanking as a means of correcting your children?
