from aliens. Why do people think they can create their own religions? Humans have been around for so much longer to just start making up religions that are really out there. Is it true you have to pay to go to their church? Any Scientolist on here, I am interested in that religion, and wonder why you think that those theories are possible, or are you just a Tom Cruz fan?

Most religions look that ridiculous from an outsider's perspective. I believe scientology is one of the most obviously braindead among them, but every religion has its impossible occurences and bizarre explanations. However, the Bible, Qur'an, Tattvartha Sutra, Torah, Kitáb-i-Aqdas, etc. were not written by a published sci-fi author who was once quoted as saying something to the effect of, "If I really wanted to make money, I'd just start a religion."

Scientology is NOT a religion - it's a cult started by L. Ron Hubbard as part of a bet he made - He bet that he could create a religion and get people to follow it. Originally it was called "dianetics" and the whole thing is based on your ability to pay for them to tell you how enlightened you are becoming, how much smarter than ordinary people you are and generally it's a huge scam.

There are active memebers who are convicted felons on the "board of directors" and it was in fact invented by L.Ron Hubbard in a science fiction magazine in 1950.

Its no more insane the bible. Also, the worst thing that can happen to a religion, is to get people like tom cruise belving in it, and trying to help you. People make a few movies, and suddenly think they know things. Heck your god is an alien. Being from somewere else who visits earth? Sounds like it to me. Hmmm, wonder if he has a visa? We should have imigration waiting at churches to pick up this horrible illegal alien.

Yeah they do have to pay money to join. Also the more money you pay the higher up the religion you go(i.e. more important). Remember that at some time every religion was made up. Oh and also scientologists think that if you make noise while giving birth your child will be haunted by these noises and will grow up disturbed. crazy

It's really no more crazy than people who believe in the myths, superstitions, fairy tales and fantastical delusions of an ignorant bunch of Bronze Age fishermen and wandering goat herders, including things like:

*  a universe in which all that exists are the earth and heaven
*  solid 'firmament' structure (the sky) separating the earth from heaven (terrarium earth)
*  talking snakes (with legs) and donkeys
*  shepherd staff turning into an asp
*  demons chased out of people and into pigs
*  friendly spirits
*  evil spirits
*  walking on water
*  multiplying loaves and fishes
*  food falling from the sky
*  conception by a ghost
*  people raising from the dead
*  the sun stopping in its tracks
*  parting seas
*  people being bodily sucked up into heaven (which, by the way, lies on the 'other side' of the sky)
*  world-wide flood that drowned the earth to a depth of 40 feet above the tallest mountain
*  creating people from dust bunnies and ribs
*  magical tree of knowledge
*  god speaking from a burning bush
*  ritual cannibalism, by eating god in the form of a cracker

How is it any different than any other religion? their ideas seem weird to Christians, but to an objective observer they all look the weird.

A man fromed from dust? A women from his rib? A being coming from another dimension and dying somehow cleanses all other men not even born yet?? Worldwide flood?? Talking animals?

Please...

Never heard of them and don't believe in evolution but have to agree about the aliens
God doesn't live on this planet and heaven isn't here either.
Someplace out there in space so technically that makes him an alien.

You have made some very good points here - but also think of this - any religion not praising God is praising a different God. There is only God and Satan - So who do you think they are worshiping?

Evolution is a theory, but none the less it is possible, not proved yet. But even if it is a fact that does not take away the fact that their is a creator of all we see.
