A real Christian is simply one who accepts Christ by believing he died and rose again for your sins. However, who is really Christlike is the real question. Sadly, those who are not trying to be Chirstlike answer too many questions. I try to be Christlike. I am not perfect. You are not supposed to follow me, you are supposed to follow Christ. Is that simply an excuse? Well, seeing as how Paul said, "follow me as I follow Christ", it kind of is. We are not perfect. However, if more Christians tried to live up to what Paul said, then it would be easier for the world to see the Christ in Christian. Sadly, the flesh of a lot of Christians is just as strong or stronger than the spirit. Paul says there is a war between the flesh (desire to sin) and the spirit. It is a fight that christians are supposed to fight EVERYDAY. Don't mistake me for being self-righteous, I am no Paul. However, after reading what nonchristians are saying about Jesus and Christians, it convicts me more to try to one day say, "follow me as I follow Christ." So, a real Christian is simply one who is saved. The real question is who is walking the walk? As Christians we represent Christ and we bring His name down every time we fall. If we could only think of that daily, we may do a better job showing others who Christ really is.

a real christian is someone who tries to obey God's word the best of his/her ability, but when they do mess up and make a mistake (like everyone on the face of this planet does) they ask for forgiveness and the strength to overcome that particular problem

Anyone who believes in Christ as the only means of salvation. Since the term is not used in the Bible and has no biblical definition it can be used by anyone who associates their beliefs with Christ. However the only true Christians believe faith alone in Christ alone.
