Some muslim once told me that growing a beard with no mustache is because he was told by the priests that you must do it to spread islam and make other people convert to islam.

No. There's no verse or clear Hadith that forces Muslim men to grow beards. I'm a Muslim guy, and I always shave.

No. Islam does not force men to grow a beard. It's not an obligation or a must-do thing.

It's a muslim mans attempt to be closer to his religion by looking like the Prophet.

No. It is only considered to be Sunnah (that which the Prophet Muhammed (saw) did). Sunnah is not in the Quran, it means only the actions of the prophet. You are not punished for not having a beard, but it is considered to be good to have one.

No they don't have to... Its a Sunaah (things that the prophet Mohamed SAW did) , and not obligatory. I'm a Muslim, and my dad, my male cousins, and my male Friends don't have beards or intend to grow one.

No it does not. People say lots of things about islam which i doubt if they even know what is Islam.

And prophet was not always with beard. They say,he sometimes grew one sometimes shaved.

No. Beard is just tradition. Nothing has to do with religion.

its not a compulsory or must do but its better to be done or recommended...ofcourse to some religious muslims its a must-do...but the majority say that is only recommended.
