My understanding is that there haven't been any more Jewish prophets since the Romans destroyed the (second) ancient temple at Jerusalem. Is this correct?

Why did God stop calling prophets from among the Jews?

To be fair, they did that to almost everyone as they were leaving the service, but, being from America I am not used to that culture. Am I being too judgemental of other cultures?

I just read some comments from a sister who was considering not coming on this website anymore because of the discouraging comments from non - believers. I, myself, was considering the same. I am mostly on here while at work because my job allows me to be able to do that. I'm usually too busy while at home. I do notice though, that I feel a sense of being a little drained after looking at some of the comments and continually trying to defend the truth. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy telling others about the truth, but I feel that if we are not careful that it can have a negative effect on us. Of course, I'm sure factors like how much time we spend on here, and what things we choose to let ourselves read, play a big factor as well. I'm sure you all have seen the comments from disfellowshipped persons and obvious apostates. This is what we are constantly warned about. All of us have to make a personal decision and I guess I'm asking myself "am I listening to the slave?"

I was raised Anglican, but have explored other Protestant sects, Roman Catholicism, Pentacostalism (& other forms of Evangelism), the Unity-type "hippie Christians" (with whom I don't fit), and have yet to find one that fits. I know I love Jesus, belong to Him, and in my own, flawed, possibly pathetic way, am following Him the best I can. My problem is, The Bible is often quite cryptic and most of the folks interpreting it cherrypick or answer with too much of one type of dogma or another. I mean, if God allows for all manner of flaws in His creation, & won't interfere with free will lest we all be little more than pets, then it'd follow that these same flaws would even have to be allowed in the process of hearing, writing, and perpetuating His word; therefore, how much of The Bible as we know it actually conveys what He wanted?) Is there a Christian church oriented towards addressing these issues w/ out being overly flexible/ permissive OR strict/ dogmatic? If so, WHAT IS IT?! Thanks.
