I was raised Anglican, but have explored other Protestant sects, Roman Catholicism, Pentacostalism (& other forms of Evangelism), the Unity-type "hippie Christians" (with whom I don't fit), and have yet to find one that fits. I know I love Jesus, belong to Him, and in my own, flawed, possibly pathetic way, am following Him the best I can. My problem is, The Bible is often quite cryptic and most of the folks interpreting it cherrypick or answer with too much of one type of dogma or another. I mean, if God allows for all manner of flaws in His creation, & won't interfere with free will lest we all be little more than pets, then it'd follow that these same flaws would even have to be allowed in the process of hearing, writing, and perpetuating His word; therefore, how much of The Bible as we know it actually conveys what He wanted?) Is there a Christian church oriented towards addressing these issues w/ out being overly flexible/ permissive OR strict/ dogmatic? If so, WHAT IS IT?! Thanks.

I am in the same boat. I shall let you know if I make any findings. For now I just do my best by studying God's Word, and following Christ the only way I know how. I will not compromise just to go to church. There are many like us ( many ). God has us in His Hand. Obey what you know from the bible, and hopefully we can come across what or where God wants us to be. I imagine you shall be receiving some quite off the wall responses, but keep the faith and always seek to please God alone, never man! God be with you my brother as you truly search.

It sounds to me like you're look for an Oxymoron, a church the preaches the bible for what it is but also leaves room that the bible is not the infallible word of God.

It seems to me you've got to go one way or the other.

As for your comment about the Bible being fallible because people are, people can be flawed but they can also do right, I don't believe the people who wrote the bible were perfect but I do believe through divine inspiration the Scriptures are the word of GOD.

I can recommend an excellent bible teaching church. It's called Calvary Chapel; they are all over the U.S. and the world, also.
