Duh. Thats exactly what religion is. God didn't create any of the man-made religions here on earth. I'm not saying God doesn't exist though.

IMO, people are confusing terms here. Mythology was created to explain the unknown. Religion is all that junk, rules, regulations, and holier than thou self righteousness that most of the world looks at and says "yuk" too. Faith is belief in those things not seen. In the Bible you will see countless examples of God's (Old Testament) and Jesus' (new Testament) intolerance for religion. God is interested in holiness on the inside, not the appearance of holiness on the outside. When people ask me if I'm religious, I always say "no" even though I am a Christian and I serve in my church regularly, read my Bible daily... I don't want to be religious, I want to be a Christian, which means, simply, Christ-like. Christ did not condemn people and have a list of rules 5 miles long.
Now as to a supernatural force with a presence on our planet. Not only is that supported by the Bible (which most of you reject as evidence, and that's fine) but it is supported by modern research in the fields of cosmology, physics, DNA research, astronomy, and cellular biology. Actually, isn't that the function of science? research and research and research to explain the unknown? And the research is increasingly pointing to design. It is frustrating when people on both sides of the issue think there is no room for the other side in their camp. Science and religion do have their separate parts, but when science begins to delve in to worldview issues, you have an overlap. I really wish more Christians understood that science supports the Bible, when both are handled properly. You don't have to shun science to believe in the Bible, they can and do co-exist.
You don't have to believe me, look it up.

Religion is man's attempt to explain the unknown. Try looking at the webster dictionary before you ask your question.
Science does not prove anything but God's ability to use it in creating life. If you try to tell me that the mechanisms and chemical reactions, free energy, rate constants and biological systems involved therein happened by chance, my response to you is gather the most intelligent men on the earth together and try to create with raw material a cell or even an atom.
That could not and would not ever happen. GOD USES SCIENCE TO FURTHER HIS PURPOSES NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY!

Religion is a covenant between man and God. He tries to tell us not to do things that will harm other people. God has even said that if a religion does more harm to the world than it helps, it is better without it.

Religion is not the miracles that people believe in. If religions were made of miracles then yes, you would be exactly right.

Religion is a way to explain things unknown yes. Whether there is truly another realm/supernatural presence/whatever is up to mystics and scientists to decide. I myself believe there are things that even the religion of science will never completely answer. Whether it's God or metaphysics I dunno. I hesitate to attribute things to God but one has to admit that the world and universe are pretty spectacular.

The former. A lot of people simply couldn't stand (and still can't) admitting that they just don't really know the answers to some things that seem kind of important (beginning of the universe, beginning of life, the afterlife, etc). So they pretend they do know, and viola! Religion is born.

Yes it is, man invented religion to explain the unknown, have an identity, and have a social structure. None of them worked.

There is not much supernatural that is unknown to me. In my terms, "religion" dictates the rules and processes we go about to recognize and worship those deities that are important to us and our cultures. But yes, there are genuine "supernatural" effects present every day, everywhere, and in every life.

Neither. Religion doesn't attempt to explain anything - instead it attempts to head off explanation.

And no, there is no supernatural anything.

why would men gave up their lives for something they made up? The Bible is the true and therefor universal. Christ talk about the coming of Islam in John16:2-3

It was to explain lightning, etc for the caveman. They made up gods, and thought if they worshiped them, it would make them more successful at hunting, etc. They did this, to make themselves feel better, and like they had control of the environment. Now it is used to control people.
