I understand that the majority of you think/say we have free choice b/c otherwise we'd be mindless robts and not really love or worship him...since Hell is a permanent concept Jesus taught us about, and God knowing that many do not believe what we're told but what can actually be shown, that doesn't make him seem like a 'loving' parent, seems to me, punishment is a temporary occurence meant to teach a lesson but Hell is supposedly permanent. I know some Xtians will say it is temporary or there just isn't one, but isn't that 'taking it out of context'

Choice. Is an illusion created by those with power.

You have asked a very interesting question, and yet the Bible does give us an answer. It's true, God can choose to see what each of his creation will do, but he chooses not to know in advance in most cases because of what you said...free will. He is hoping that you will choose to follow the correct course outlined in the Bible. He needs for humans to make a reply to Satan, the one who taunts God with saying that mankind will not serve God out of choice or want God to be the ruler of the universe. So, without looking into your future, he can only hope that you will gain an accurate knowledge of his purpose found in the Bible and then with your free will choose to serve God and make Satan the liar he is already.

God is a cycle of the universe, not a single entity, the idea is only an idea in experiential terms only-- that being said, there are beings that know pretty much exactly what we will do/become with our lives. this is because subsistentiality technology is capable of sacrificing your atom's substance for the ability to partially exist in a lower gravitational constant version of this galaxy. choice itself is a matrix of energy not unlike the matrices of gravity and electricity and anti-matter and protons and such other principalities

Think of it this way....
Your life (beginning to end) is a painting.
God sees it all, the foreground, the background,
the whole body of work, at one glance. From the
smallest flaws to the greatest of your works here
on earth. You still have choice, but God always knows what you choose even before your choice is made.

He knows what we will do, but still gives us a choice. This is so that we can be in control of our destiny. If we had no free will, then Hell wouldn't be justified. But Hell is justified because we all have the free will to accept Jesus Christ as our Savior.

hi, you have free choice because, if someone made all your chioces for you, you would not grow or think for yourself. God is like a father watching over his child, giving good advice to his child. whether u may good or bad choices, it still your chioce, not someome else. Think of the former USSR. or Afghanstan where people had no choice or freedom to think for themselves. remember religion should not be forced, but embrace. sometimes we make choices or decisions that are not good for us and they are life long bad choices...like smoking, drinking etc. u get the picture....God still loves u...no matter the end result...thats it's important to have a strong relationship with God to guide u through tough times...even when u feel its his fault, its nots. ok....

Well I've heard it explained two ways that made sense to me, we still make our own choices, but:

1) God knows what choices we'll make because he knows us so well. It's like when I go to the spaghetti factory with my husband, I know he's going to get the clam sauce.

2) God isn't subject to time like we are - It kind of makes my head hurt when I really think about it, but it makes sense.

Best wishes

If we did not have a free will or volition, we would just be robots doing God's bidding without a will of our own and we would be forced to obey Him without question. We could not voluntarily love and obey Him under those conditions. Plus under free will we will be responsible for our own decisions and choices. Isn't that the way you would want it? I like it that way. I would not want to be just another robot. Would you?

God only sets you in motion down a path. It is up to you to try to stay on that path and keep him in mind.

God gave men free will and the ability to make his/her own choices & decisions.

God CAN see the future and he is able to see what choices we'll make but, he chooses not to and,he gives us freedom to chose our life, because he is not controlling, unlike the Devil who does control our life's.
