I just read some comments from a sister who was considering not coming on this website anymore because of the discouraging comments from non - believers. I, myself, was considering the same. I am mostly on here while at work because my job allows me to be able to do that. I'm usually too busy while at home. I do notice though, that I feel a sense of being a little drained after looking at some of the comments and continually trying to defend the truth. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy telling others about the truth, but I feel that if we are not careful that it can have a negative effect on us. Of course, I'm sure factors like how much time we spend on here, and what things we choose to let ourselves read, play a big factor as well. I'm sure you all have seen the comments from disfellowshipped persons and obvious apostates. This is what we are constantly warned about. All of us have to make a personal decision and I guess I'm asking myself "am I listening to the slave?"

One must be careful. Talk to your elders. Let me know what is said!

I agree, there is a need to be careful. It is difficult to search through all the "junk" to find sincere people who are sighing and groaning. I look for the questions that allow me to do research, those are rather fun. But there is a need to be judicious, and very cautious. None of us want to fall into a snare. And the time factor is a huge one...
I think also, one of the reasons it is not as encouraging to teach via computer is we can't see the response from the person we are trying to communicate with. We have no idea if they are even reading what we have taken the time to post. That is why I look for every opportunity to provide a direct link to our official site, I will look for an article that fits what they are asking about. At least then, maybe they might really learn something.

However, you need to make sure to follow your conscience.
I also don't bother with asking questions because most of the answers are going to be like you said from apostates...no thanks.

I agree that many condemn us, but they do so because Christendom has blinded them for so long. I believe we can give people more information this way. In field service, some refuse to listen at all, but if they read our answers or respond to our questions, they are getting a good witness. I had someone choose one of my answers as best and they asked about bad people going to hell forever when they die. I explained that hell was the grave and that God would never torture anyone. I told them that death was like sleeping. They responded by saying I set them straight and they believed what I told them what the truth. When things like that happen, I do not mind the persecution so much.

I will be happy to speak about religion with you, but you must use my Bible (the Catholic translation) and I you have to agree to have a discussion.

Being labeled as an "apostate" before anything is said doesn't help any. Our opinions are discounted before we even get started.

Dear Daniel,

I feel the same too! If this website weakens you, then it is best to stop.

But i also found some encouragement from the answers of "Lover of Truth".

You may have intellectual discourse with this Catholic, but you have to agree to use my Bible.
