Why are people still aping Arabic traditions in parts of the world where they are frankly just out of place.
The Jewish, Christian & Islamic religions are all middle-eastern exports based on the notions and ideals of ancient primitive desert nomads who once lived there after all... not at all suited to modern 21st century life and totally at odds with modern scientific knowledge.

The "original sin" is thinking one is separate from God... God is everywhere... thinking one is separate from God is like a fish in the sea thinking it is separate from the water... soooo what's with people thinking that everything that is bad or anything that makes us feel good is a "sin"?

It wems tat among the Jews at that time, circumcision was crucial to obeying the Jewish laws.

Question 1 -why was it so important that in order to recruit followers to his Christian cult, Paul had to say that it was not ?

Question 2- How could Jewish women be important in the religion when it would be impossible to circumcise them?

if god is all knowing and all powerful why did he create the world?why did he make the forbiden fruit? knowing that man could not pass the test before them. from the start he gave man free will knowing that man would eat the forbiden fruit, knowing that it would lead to jesus dieing on a cross. why did god create us if he knew we were going to fail, why not save himself the trouble and not make us at all?

what do you think?
for the sake of argument lets just say god does exict

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it. Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." [Matt22:37-40]

is this possible since if you did your whole life would be based on the bible and you would do everything you could to not sin.

The caged bird is of course the Christian and
the free bird is an atheist.

From what I can gather:

The laws regarding sacrifice/offerings used to maintain the relationship with God and for atonement of sin have been replaced by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

The laws regarding how to live properly, such as how to maintain sexual morality, are still in effect; but some, such as certain practices regarding using animals for food, are not.

Can someone tell me if I am on the right track or way out in left field?

Thanks for your help.

I've heard about how different groups have changed the Bible during certian periods to "tell the story more to their liking"... and how a group picked out the books that would be included in the Bible and which ones wouldn't... and of course the various translations from language to language...

So... what percentage do you think has been changed or altered over 2,000 years?

The odds of it being completely unaffected over that period of time are slim to none... especially since some books weren't even included in our current Bible...

I usually pick logic over faith so I'm atheist but it feels empty. Anyone gotta religion to suggest? Please don't just pick your own religion because it is yours but I want the most logical. I know faith isn't logical but I want one with all the answers.

The Bible does not say that it is a sin to have sex before marriage. In Exodus, chapter 20, we read the Ten Commandments, and are told that we should not commit adultery. Adultery however is not defined as simply having sex outside of marriage. It's defined as having sex with a married person. Nothing is said to prohibit sexual relations between two unmarried people. In fact, if we look in the book of Leviticus, we are given a list of every situation in which we should not have sex. We're not to have sex with married people, or with family members, or with animals. We are not, however, prohibited from having sex with an unmarried person who is not in our family.

The Septuagint Old Testament is the same Old Testament that Catholics still use today.

This is a quote from a very PROTESTANT website:
"Luke 1:27 This Greek word parthenos (virgin) is used in Isa. 7:14 inThe Septuagint, the Greek Old Testament translation which Jesus read and quoted."
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=49&version=45#en-AMP-24920

But, the first Protestants rejected that version because of a post Jesus era council (Javneh in the year A.D. 90) of Jewish leaders (the ones who rejected Jesus as Messiah) decided at that time that they were not going to use the Septuagint Old Testament anymore.

The first Protestants rationalized that it was because the 7 books that they threw out were not in Hebrew.

However, the recent discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls has revealed ancient Hebrew writings of those 7 books. But the Protestants still reject them. The way I see it, if the Septuagint Old Testament was good enough for Jesus, it's good enough for me.

Jesus is shown in the Scriptures as being created in Rev. 3:14; Col. 1:15; Prov. 8:22 and Psa. 2:7. If He was created, He can't be God, since God is eternal.

ANSWER: (A) Rev. 3:14 states that Jesus is "the beginning of the creation of God." The word translated "beginning" is ARCHE in the Greek. It also means ORIGIN besides BEGINNING. Since ORIGIN and SOURCE are synonymous, we can now understand why this verse reads in the N. A. B. "the SOURCE of God's creation." This verse doesn't show Jesus is created, but that He is the Creator! After all, since Jesus created EVERYTHING that was created (Col. 1:16), how could He be part of His own creation?
