The 10 commandments are no longer in effect. Ephesians 2:15 Through his body on the cross, Christ put an end to the law with all its commands and rules. He wanted to create one new group of people out of the two. He wanted to make peace between them.

The most common are Lust, Gluttony, Sloth and Vanity, but those aren't part of the Ten Commandments.

I would have to say that the sin broken by most people, in my opinion, is the 4th Commandment (Sabbath).

The Fourth: Remember the sabbath and keep it holy.

(I also stuggle with the Second - "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth" - because I teach the arts, particularly visual art. But when translated as "You shall not create and worship idols before me" then it is not as significant a problem.)

I would guess that many in American culture struggle with the last "Thou shalt not covet...", which forbids one to desire and plan how to obtain that which God has given another. It seems that our culture practically makes us desire everything!

Interesting that some posters seem to answer for "Christians" in general, but stay away from themselves.

I swear...taking the Lord's name in vain. I have a very quick temper over the slightest things. One of my characteristics that I really don't like.

I shouldn't admit this as I am Catholic, but l have learned how to lie and not get caught. I do it so casually, as not to hurt someone or get into trouble myself. I have become really good at it that no one would know if I was telling a lie or not. Bad huh? I need to go for Pennance.
