I have been saved, though not in the way you describe...

I have been saved from ignorance and slavery by becoming a free thinker. I realize that the supernatural is merely our minds playing tricks on us and the more we believe in such nonsense the more easily we are fooled by it.

I'm saved from the cruelty that the bible professes. I'm free from absurd claims and circular reasoning.

I just wish there was some way i could "save" some of you as well.

Am I saved? Assuming that Christianity out of the 4,000+ religions in the world was the "right one," and that I would really go to hell if i didn't believe in something that doesn't prove itself, then I'd rather go to hell that spend eternity in heaven with the hypocritical God that creates free-thinking, intelligent, and very good people and then sends them to eternal burning hell just because all the religions claiming to be the right one all sounded the same, and science and evolution made more sense. My goodness, talk about SICK!

P.S. The Christian heaven is not something I would call a heaven. There's too much gold and ZERO SEX!!!!! AHHHH!!!!!

No one is as bad as Satan. Note, hell was made to punish the devil not for humans. however, when Adam sinned sin entered into the world and death came as a result. hell is the home of the dead who have not accepted Jesus. Two sayings- the way to hell is paved with good intentions and hell is full of good people.

to answer you last question, no, i don't think that means they are as bad as satan... FOR EXAMPLE... if one raises a child to the age of 18 with NO religious opinion, yet this person has never 'sinned' in the eyes of Christians, why should this perfect child go to hell??? he doesn't know any different... i truly think that a lot less people are going to hell than we think... our God is one of compassion and understanding.

as for your friends... PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY!!!.... the number 1 deterrent for non-believers, is people FORCING religion on to them!!! As Christians we are not suppose to judge, nor are we suppose to intrude on others lives... we are suppose to give the knowledge of Jesus to people, though, IF it is appropriate, they are willing to listen, and if they ask. IF those criteria are not met, then it is not our place to interrupt their daily lives so that we can feel better about ourselves because we 'tried to save them'... we can only save ourselves... and i promise you, that once people see you living and practicing the TRUE and PURE way of God and receiving all the benefits, then one by one you will see people take more interest in your cause.

You are judging your friends based upon the myths, superstitions, fairy tales and fantastical delusions of an ignorant bunch of Bronze Age fishermen and wandering goat herders. Just look at this list of stuff which is a part of the 'inerrant truths' that are part and party to your beliefs:

*  a universe in which all that exists are the earth and heaven
*  solid 'firmament' structure (the sky) separating the earth from heaven (terrarium earth)
*  talking snakes (with legs) and donkeys
*  shepherd staff turning into an asp
*  demons chased out of people and into pigs
*  friendly spirits
*  evil spirits
*  walking on water
*  multiplying loaves and fishes
*  food falling from the sky
*  conception by a ghost
*  people raising from the dead
*  the sun stopping in its tracks
*  parting seas
*  people being bodily sucked up into heaven (which, by the way, lies on the 'other side' of the sky)
*  world-wide flood that drowned the earth to a depth of 40 feet above the tallest mountain
*  creating people from dust bunnies and ribs
*  magical tree of knowledge
*  god speaking from a burning bush
*  ritual cannibalism, by eating god in the form of a cracker

Get a grip.

Probably nobody is as bad as Satan, but that's not the point. The point is that we're all bad people to some degree -- even the people whom we would enthusiastically affirm to be "good people" are bad to some degree. So we're all in the same boat when in comes to meeting God's standard of righteousness: we all fail. This is why God sent Jesus to die for our sins and take our sins away from us -- so that we won't have to be punished for them ourselves. The only requirement is that we have faith in His atoning death and resurrection for the forgiveness of our sins. People who don't believe in Jesus haven't allowed His sacrifice to be effect for them on account of their not receiving it by faith. Were they to do this, they'd be forgiven, but as it presently stands, they remain under condemnation.

If loving the lord is wrong...
I dont wanna be right!

A good sermon should be like a woman's skirt: short enough to arouse interest but long enough to cover the essentials.

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle. Then I realised that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me."

In the biblical view of salvation, good or bad is not the issue. Being justified by faith is. I have found tolerance to be a healthy addendum to faith and dogmatism to be a hindrance.
