I have heard it argued that in order for true love to exist, then there has to be the real possibility of rejection. God wanted creatures that loved him of their own free will, not robots that simply said what he wanted to hear.

God obviously knew that the majority of humanity would reject him, but he was apparently emotionally secure enough that he could take it. God must have thought that the possibility of genuine love was worth all of the rejection.

The forbidden fruit was in the garden to give man free choice. God wanted a relationship with people that would choose to love and obey Him, if we were forced to love Him what kind of relationship would that be?
As you already pointed out the final result of God creating the forbidden fruit was Jesus dying on a cross. What better way for God to reveal his nature to us? GOD IS LOVE. He knew that he would have to send Jesus to save us and that was the ultimate expression of God's love for us... to send his only so to die in our place!

“Free Will”, You Say?

It is also written that I was given free will with which to choose if I will go to hell or not. How can you possibly deem something free when you must fear consequences? That completely conflicts with the definition of free. If I were to hold a gun to your head and say “you have free will to not give me your wallet, but if you attempt to defy me I will kill you.” Does it really feel as if you have a choice in the matter? Of course not. Free means to give or receive something with out an expectation of return. The whole free will concept is self defeating. Call it Circumstantial Will, for that is what it truly is.

Despite this, I have still had the displeasure of debating with those Christians who accept hell as a rational and fair wrath of God. They defend Jehovah’s creation of hell with the opinion that those who are committed to hell go voluntary, as if it is a consequence rather then a punishment. That indeed, we as children of God, chose rather to be hell’s inmates then God’s disciples in heaven. It’s an interesting idea. However, you don’t have to hurt anyone to get into Hell. All it takes, according to Scripture, is knowing about Jesus and not accepting him as Savior. It doesn’t matter how virtuous you are, how much good you do, how happy an environment you create for others. Given this, the voluntary entry argument doesn’t make sense. The same argument could be used to justify the sending of Aryan opponents of Nazism to concentration camps: they voluntarily chose not to give homage to Hitler, so they chose to be interred. Why should we blame the Nazis for the inmates’ choice? Why should we blame God for the choice of the damned?

Free will. God wanted a relationship, not robots. If there was no way to sin, humans would not have the choice of following him, thus there had to be a way. If this was inevitable, then why do it at all? because he loved us before the universe was created.

Because He also knows the last part ,We who have been taken into His presence will live in His Heaven in His peace forever.
To answer Why He would let Us all go through the sin that lead Jesus to die,Because He wanted fellowship, but not slaves. We need to chose His way in spite of our self, yes our nature is to do what is wrong (SIN) But because He also knew the end He wanted Us to choose Him freely. So His plan (Jesus) is the way to Him.In My life If I knew one of My loved ones would die horrible, would I not also want the good times? If I could choose not to know them would I? God knows of the sin,Yes,But He also wants Fellowship with us.Its like if you want the good in life you also have bad times. Hope I helped.

God created sin to show us the greatest act of love, laying down His life for friends.

for the sake of arguement i say we are all too ignorant to understand his methods &reasons.i also would say we are so foolish that we keep trying to open up his mysteries knowing what happened to them two when they broke the rule and ate the forbidden fruit.

Here's something you probably haven't heard often: God has created everything for His pleasure:

"You (God) created everything, and it is for your pleasure that they exist and were created." Rev. 4:11b (NLT)

We were created for His pleasure, and He also loves us very much.
