Why are people still aping Arabic traditions in parts of the world where they are frankly just out of place.
The Jewish, Christian & Islamic religions are all middle-eastern exports based on the notions and ideals of ancient primitive desert nomads who once lived there after all... not at all suited to modern 21st century life and totally at odds with modern scientific knowledge.

Reply to Pancakes: no you are wrong, it will just be replaced by the updated science of the time, that's not a failing of science, it is it's strength, when new discoveries are made they replace the outdated versions as they should...religion and the bible is ossified and dead , it does not grow or change, that = dead! dead! dead!

For the exact same reason that people with "...modern scientific knowledge..." are aping religious people by approaching their beliefs with faith instead of reason.

Only bad science assumes that everthing to know is already known.

Good science approaches the unexplained as simply needing further study, and allows room for all possibilities. To categorically state that there is no God is no less foolish than to categorically state that there is. Besides, "...modern scientific knowledge..." is in a constant state of shift. New theories are constantly being proposed while old are discarded, and others revived.

Feel superior if you'd like, but you should really find a better reason. Maybe point your vast scope of modern scientific knowledge toward something useful, and then you'd have something to feel proud about.

Some traditions were shared by the Mystery Cult, other traditions come from long-standing religions based in large civilizations such as the Egyptian goddess, Isis. there was also Mithra, Gilgamesh, and the Mother Goddess, to name 3 major sources.

This does not make your question any less valuable, but it does make thinking people wonder about the validity of modern beliefs.

About being at odds with modern scientific knowledge - just like in the middle ages, there is a big movement to supress it. Ever heard of "Intelligent Design"?

Which nomads? 6-8 thousand years ago many people were nomadic, including Abraham for a period of time. The Lord God established the law through Moses, He established the new covenant through Jesus. The only aping going on is your understanding of christianity.

Why not? Modern science will always change and be ancient science in a few decades.
Religion is rock solid throughout ages.

I think the question is to generalized. Maybe you could be more specific, name some traditions that people are aping, then name the scientific knowlegde that invalidates them, and then a discussion could occur.

Whether it's "nomads" as you claim, or from the jungles from South America, - who cares? God has to choose a group to bring his Word to the world.

BTW... we're still sinners. has that changed these thousands of years??
