If you are talking about actual 'pre-marital' as in the date is set, we are going to get to the church on time - it sounds like a crisis of conscience. If you are talking as a teenager who is dating and having sex, be very careful not to place your actions on your religion. The point is: is this the right person for you and are you emotionally ready for ANY fall out from this. All sex carries risk, and I'm not talking eternal damnation. I mean STD's, unwanted pregnancies, and the all to real fact that the relationship, no matter how close to the altar you are, could end - leaving real emotional turmoil.

Julie, that is a really hard question to answer. Some will tell you that it is okay because everyone else is doing it. I am really unable to give you an answer to that question because i am a Christian in a committed relationship and am not yet married to this man. I would be lying if I said I have not had sex with him and as a christian I won't do that. Paul does speak directly to this issue in almost all(if not all) of his letters in the New Testament, he tells us that sex before marriage is wrong. So if you follow strictly the teaching of the Bible then your answer is no.

It's called fornication. But people are not as strict as they used to be. Christians never used to believe in divorce either, but look at Rev. Jim Bakker and Tammy Faye. Divorced.
So if it is Ok for Christian MINISTERS to get divorced (and re-marry), then what's the big deal about sex before marriage -- or anything, for that matter?

Yes it is ok for a Christian to have sex before marriage, even by the Bible. In Exodus, chapter 20, we read the Ten Commandments, and are told that we should not commit adultery. Adultery however is not defined as simply having sex outside of marriage. It's defined as having sex with a married person. Nothing is said to prohibit sexual relations between two unmarried people. In fact, if we look in the book of Leviticus, we are given a list of every situation in which we should not have sex. We're not to have sex with married people, or with family members, or with animals. We are not, however, prohibited from having sex with an unmarried person who is not in our family.

Any time in the bible you see the word fornication....that means sex outside of marriage. And it's called a sin. Just do a word search at Blue Letter Bible.
And no, sex itself isn't a sin. God ordains marriage between one man and one woman, and a husband and wife having sexual relations is not sinful.

I believe that some ideas that are presented as religious rules have been started to protect people. Consider how many illegitimate children, and poeple not knowing who is the father of who, if there had not been some sort of rule.
When I think of marriage, I think more in lines of a committed relationship with one partner, I suspect that is more how it was in biblical times. I don't think there was so much legality involved.
I believe that in the proper relationship there is a commitment, spiritually the two belong to eachother.
And I think you have to make your own decisions about these things.

No. You are to be pure. And God has very good reasons for the this to be a fact. Not to mention diseases, pregnancy, but also for the desire. It is to be only for your husband and or wife.
And the reason I know about desire, is I am a Christian woman, who was not always so. I was wild when i was young, and now that I have made the commitment to follow Jesus, satan/ life uses desires for the opposite sex against me.
And I finally understand why we should not have sex before we ar married.

first...to answer your question..it doesn't matter if you are a christian or not....it is still a sin and is very wrong to have sex before marriage. and in the bible you can find in in Exodus chapter 20..The Ten Commandments. and one of the commandments are thou shall not commit adultery.....adultery is when u have sex out of marriage..and If you break one of the commandments then that is committing sin...so therefore NO ONE suppose to have sex before marriage...I hope this helped....
